[_ Old Earth _] Evolutionism and Evolution; some essential differences

Evolution is consistent with the bible because the bible is consistent with evolution???????????????????

No. It's consistent with evolution, because nothing in scripture contradicts evolution. As you have seen, creationists have to add new ideas to Genesis in order to make it fit their doctrines.

Talk about circular reasoning....:screwloose:screwloose:screwloose

I'm beginning to think "evolutionism s consistent with the Bible" is some sort of mantra. Say it enough and people will start to believe it.

Why is a miracle outside of God's ability? The text very clearly shows that the conception of Jesus was miraculous. On the other hand, the poetic language of Genesis shows a parable.

The parable interpretation has been demonstrated to be false. In fact several times by several means.
I also noticed how Barbarian threw In the word...poetic...in an attempt to try to help makes his point. All though I don't see Genesis following the rules of poetry....it really doesn't matter because poetry often tell a true story....accurately.

Creationist have to add new ideas? Creationist added the idea that Eve was formed out of one of Adams ribs? Tell us what happened barbarian, did the creationist sneak into an old manuscript and add that to the Bible? You know, considering how it contradicts the concepts of evolutionism.

Uhm ,so Cain and able were human and Cain married a sister of his? Who were her parents if creationism is wrong?

Jesus judged isreal for the blood of abel.he spoke of abel being a literal prophet.

Jews don't see Genesis as poetry.barb had ignore that Levant culture uses a rhyme and device for that. Genesis contains no such device.

If creation is wrong then there is no Cain. Cain becomes some sort of evolutionism-invented metaphor

Do you have a chapter and verse?
Matthew 23:34,35,behold I send you my prophets,saints,and apostles a
So that blood from zechariah whom ye slew upon the altar unto able who was slain by cain be upon you.

I'm still trying to understand your point....here is what the entire verse says...
29“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and decorate the monuments of the righteous, 30saying, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ 31Thus you witness against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. 32Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers. 33You serpents, you brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to hell? 34Therefore I send you prophets and wise men and scribes, some of whom you will kill and crucify, and some you will flog in your synagogues and persecute from town to town, 35so that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah the son of Barachiah, fwhom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar. 36Truly, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation.

Context ,says why.the point of if Abel wasnt a literal prophet his blood wouldn't be upon isreal.

I'm a preterst because of that verse.see it's fulfilling in rev 17,18

I'm not a preterist. I see too much stuff in Rev that hasn't happened.

Concerning Abel, whether or not he was a prophet doesn't really matter much. I so far only see him as described....righteous.

Modern cultural morning that uses ashes ? Modern mention of Jerusalem having so much money that even we trade with them and would loose a ton if they didnt.

Jerusakem us recorded as having more wealth then rome.

OK, what does that mean?

My point is simply you claimed to take a book literally and ignored the first audiencw, their culture. Have you ever done any Hebrew feasts? Listen to the jews teach the tanach?

It's possible, thouhh unlikely ,thar the early isrealites believed the sun revolved around the earth, yet you nor I would see genesis supporting that.I'm talking before isiah was written.

You take the sun and the Bible from the wrong point of view. From the wrong relative reference...and try to apply it to the reference of the common. In doing so you cry foul. Yet, you don't cry foul when the weather channels mention a sunrise.

But it is you who said I took the book literally and ignored the first audience. Are you going to tell me God could not have created the way He said He did? Or will you drop it down a notch and tell us God didn't create the way he said He did?

To that I might add...why is Genesis presented as literal and historical by the rest of the biblical inspired authors?

Perhaps I should listen to the jews teach the tanach...do you think they would agree with me on Isaiah 53?

The parable interpretation has been demonstrated to be false.

Nope. You can't refute it, because scripturally, that's what it is. If you add a few things, you can get it to work, sort of. But adding to scripture isn't a good idea.

As you have been repeatedly reminded, it does tell a true story. You just don't like what it says.

BTW, how about telling us what the "rules of poetry" might be? I really want to hear that one.
