Ex Christian Forums

Where are theses forums located so I can go read them?

I just did what HeIsRisen2018 suggested (without knowing she suggested it) and found ex-Christian.net

I didn't go too far into the site yet. Not sure if I will. But I am super sad when I hear of people leaving Christianity. It doesn't matter the reason. If it's abuse or harshness from Christians, that's bad enough, but if it's something like they never knew God, that's just as bad. It's like the things God does in each of our lives (whether it's great or small) was never experience by them or never discussed amonst Christians to encourage each other.

it makes me wonder how many superficial "born again" events occur. How deeply are people committing to Christ. Maybe some are just getting caught up in the hype. They need friends. They need a caring Christian
community to support them so will do whatever it takes to get it.
good point - i do wonder too what is going on and how can this happen?

i meet Christ because i was introduced to Him

not sure what others are being offered? - is it Christ or something else? - like join a church? - idk

Thank you. I did check it out a little bit and it is sad to see the reasons why they walked away. But, many were Christian by name only and probably were never taught about the Spiritual rebirth or the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. They read the scriptures, but had no understanding. Some rely on the Pastor, but yet even some Pastors can let you down and trodden as well I know.

Do we blame them that walk away, or do we blame the Church?

I don't know. I looked around on the site and tried talking to some of tgem. I think some of them it was a hard transaction deciding to not be Christian. Based on that I don't think we can say they were Christian in name only before, or which ones were or weren't more devoted.

Thankfully that's not our job to separate the sheep from the goats. Perhaps some day some of them might come back and reclaim their faith. Like a prodigal son kind of thing.
