Bible Study False Prophets and Antichrist.

In Matthew Chapter 24, The Lord tells us in the times that head toward the end of the ages, to be aware of false prophets. The Christ is the fulfill-er of all bible prophecy's,. biblical covenants and promises. To the Church (The body of Christ) everything has been revealed past present and future. That does not mean all promises and prophecy's have been fulfilled, but the Church knows what what they are.(Eph.1:3-21) So my understanding is that any new prophecy,s claimed by any person clamming to be a prophet will be false.

The Antichrist denies Christ Deity, also called false teachers. (1 Jon.4:1-3)

One other thing we are warned about is "that other gospel, which is not the gospel. That other Gospel is works + Christ to be saved (works exclude grace). For belief (faith) alone in Christ gives us a new man eager to do good work , for we have been saved already.(The epistle of Galatians)

Not much a bible study going on here. False prophets? or works? who knows.

And there is still another gospel that can not save--the gospel that says the faith that does not transform you into the character and likeness of Christ can save, too. This is actually the 'other' gospel that the church has been infiltrated with in these last days. In all of my 29 years as an active Christian, I only know of maybe two people who said they were Christians and who claimed that one is saved by the merit of their work. But I can not count the number of Christians I've met that insist faith does not have to do anything in order for it to be the faith that can save a person. Because they are sure if it had to do anything that would be saying we are saved by our works.

False prophets who teach a gospel of works.

I think we need to be more concerned about false prophets who teach the gospel of the opposite extreme--that even the faith that leaves a person un-transformed in the dead works of their fallen nature can save that person.

Hi Mike, if you are a christian "who knows" is not a profitable answer to the hearer. Christ taught these doctrines. Your quote carries no grace or peace in spirit. Regeneration causes a change in the believers life. Your Quotes seem hostile?

Hi Jethro, There is only one saving faith. It was a gift from God. God knows those who are His. There are many tares among the wheat.

Graceful confusion is an asset. :)

I think there are probably several "other gospels" some more obvious than others, some more dangerous than others, and probably many more to add to the list before it's all said and done.
 
My guess is so many try to figure it out, because it is written as somewhat of a challenge in the Bible. And just talkin' here but I'd guess most would like to think of themselves as "wise" so that's another thing that draws interest in figuring it out. Not to mention, many like a good riddle.

Revelation 13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Not saying that's your reasons, Douglas, but generally speaking.

What's dangerous though? Whatever someone does not like, even if they are confused and wrong about it. That becomes dangerous.
Some rant Constantly that the Roman Catholic Church is the evil of all evils. Go start reading those who like Chic tracks and you will soon believe the Pope is the Antichrist.

I had people tell me that if I don't believe in Trinity (Their version of course) that I can't be saved. You have to believe in a Roman Catholic Creed, or else your toast.

Then a Apostolic Pastor I was working with told me that to believe in Trinity, would mean I was not saved, as God has not revealed himself to me. I also was not saved because I was baptized wrong. Only in the name of Jesus counts.

So, when someone throws out a Doctrine they think is dangerous, and they are focused on it. I know I am dealing with a novice who is confused. A novice because they only know a few things, and harp on what they think they know.

So while there are many Doctrines that are not helpful, and will keep folks in bondage, the most dangerous is not to care about any at all, and give a rip about what anything in the Bible has to say, including Jesus being Lord. You can't recover out of that one, once you leave earth.

It truly is... I feel blessed to be ignorant at times. I don't want to figure out anything except what God has planned for me to live, and to be confident enough to tell others how he died for us.

Yes, many spend much time on the mystery of 666. I did as a young christian, but have been led to other teaching of Christ. I will give you a clue. "6" is the number of man in the Bible. "666" is the infinity of man or the multitude of men on the earth who govern it's. affairs (order and arrangement). It is outwardly religious, scientific, cultured but is seething with rivalries and competition. This world system is (under the principles of Satan). It is a political Babylon with a ecclesiastical Babylon ( all apostate Christendom). "The Antichrist" comes by the preparing of the way by the many Antichrist who were already working during the Apostle Johns time (1 Jon 2:18; 4:3.). An Antichrist denies the deity of Christ. (that Jesus is God) So the name of the Antichrist is not for the Church to know...it will be clearer to those who have the Book during this exact time. BTW, 7 is the number of complete or finish.. When God is done, men will be a "7".

From what I read, the rest of what you have there is a rant and we already did that one, so not much sense in rehashing it.

Hi Kenny, Any born again believer knows he is not wise, for Christ is our wisdom.(1 Cor. 1:29-31). But if you have trusted and put your faith in Christ, You must contend for the faith. Most people don't know what Christ came preaching. They use him as a lucky charm or rabbits foot. (only when they need something). I use to be in karate and traveled around to different cities to fight. When I got serious about the Lord, I had no desire for such things. How many times have you heard a boxer or fighter say "I give all the credit to God". What he is actually saying is: thank you God for helping me beat this guy senseless! Their god is their ambition. Then you have the name it and claim it church$, The send me $100 and the Lord will bless you! Even the news people do not know Christ who give honor to anyone that says they are religious, They give honor to Athiest to be fair and balanced? it goes on and on. And just about all mankind joins in with it. Most of the famous people who call their selves Reverend on TV or in the spotlights of social controversy have lied, have children by other women than their wives, blackmail people, become famously rich through ill gotten gain! Where are the faithful? God knows who they are.....the visible church does not.

Is the problem the lie, or the folks that believe lies?

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
(2Ti 4:3)

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
(2Th 2:10-11)

If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
(Joh 7:17)

The one that believes the lies, and get forever trapped, did not have a heart to do the will of God anyway. Every day should be a day we say, "What are the plans today Lord, I go where you say go, I give what you say give, I do what you say do."

You notice the ones that get the illusion, and the ones that don't like sound doctrine, are not sold out to God, to do his will.

The person spreading the lie, receives their own reward.

Like I sad, Douglas, I wasn't referring to you, but human nature is what it is, even with Christians. But I do see what you are saying, just talking reality here as I see it.

Any born again believer knows he is not wise, for Christ is our wisdom.

Fact is, men can be wise too, and some actually know they are. No sin in that as long as they don't let it go to their head.

The 3 wise men, for example, were probably wise. :) and do you really think that they weren't aware they were wise? wise men aren't stupid. They were likely wise enough to not let it go to their head though.

1Jn_2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
1Jn_2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
1Jn_4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
2Jn_1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

Reading these verses in context i do not see A single person as THEE Antichrist.. These are the only verses pertaining to anitchrist in scriptures.... According to the verses above "who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. "
