Bible Study False Prophets and Antichrist.

we duffer a bit :)
1Jn_2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
1Jn_2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
1Jn_4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
2Jn_1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

Reading these verses in context i do not see A single person as THEE Antichrist.. These are the only verses pertaining to anitchrist in scriptures.... According to the verses above "who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. "

Hi reba,
I do not disagree with the Scriptures in the epistle of 1 John. I stated that the many Antichrist are in Johns epistle. But many identify "The Antichrist" to be the "beast coming up out of the earth" (Rev.13: 11-18) .

Many may do so, but to do so they need something called a scripture. Just because some do so, does not make it so. What scripture would you use?

Hi Mike. Rev.13: 1-17. The word Antichrist is never used in these Scriptures. But these verse give a definition of an Antichrist. The beast is a single person and also the false prophet (Rev.16:13; 19:20; 20:10). He makes war with the saints, blasphemy against God, and those that are in heaven and expects to be worshiped above God. That is an Antichrist....(."The Antichrist".) He denies the deity of Christ and that he himself should be worshiped. He is the god of power, wealth and ruler of the world.

And there is still another gospel that can not save--the gospel that says the faith that does not transform you into the character and likeness of Christ can save, too. This is actually the 'other' gospel that the church has been infiltrated with in these last days. In all of my 29 years as an active Christian, I only know of maybe two people who said they were Christians and who claimed that one is saved by the merit of their work. But I can not count the number of Christians I've met that insist faith does not have to do anything in order for it to be the faith that can save a person. Because they are sure if it had to do anything that would be saying we are saved by our works.

Yes, those who are taught that there is no need to obey the Gospel, spend their lives with dead faith that can not save or transform them them because they never repented.

Truly those that do not obey the Gospel, will reap a terrible reward on the Day of His Coming.

8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,
10 when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed. 2 Thessalonians 1:8-10

Like I sad, Douglas, I wasn't referring to you, but human nature is what it is, even with Christians. But I do see what you are saying, just talking reality here as I see it.

Any born again believer knows he is not wise, for Christ is our wisdom.

Fact is, men can be wise too, and some actually know they are. No sin in that as long as they don't let it go to their head.

The 3 wise men, for example, were probably wise. :) and do you really think that they weren't aware they were wise? wise men aren't stupid. They were likely wise enough to not let it go to their head though.
.
Hi Kenny,
I do not believe that men are wise. This is what I believe (1 Cor.1 ;17-31; Rom.1:16-32). Please read them.
Thanks

Agreed 'many do' but do the Scriptures?
John penned both the "little Books of John and The Revelation... He via the Holy Spirit did not use the term antichrist else were... so i wont..
one of my quirks :)

So we are reading along in the book Gone with the Wind.. heading into the last chapter we ( 'we' being other then the author) decide to change Scarlet to Linda... not a good idea :)

Hi JLB, Those that do not obey the Gospel do not have dead faith....they have no faith at all, But you are right, they are dead, actually already dead! Matt. 8:18-22; Jon.3:18.

So, the spirit "of" the antichrist mentioned in John fits the descriptive factors as found in the one who calls himself god and opposes the saints. So by the type of spirit by definition would make it an antichrist. Ok. Reasonable enough.

That's fine Douglas, we don't all believe the same. A few days ago someone gave me several verses to read, I read them, read them again and again and still didn't find what the someone claimed was in them so I have a request, but first:.

As I understand it, you are saying men are not wise and from everything you said, as in, "I do not believe that men are wise." period, I gather you mean all men. Now I know the wise men were wise and I'd just sound facetious if I tried to explain why. Then there is King Solomon and I'd sound the same if I tried to explain why Solomon was wise so suffice to say, God said he gave him wisdom and God Doesn't lie. And those are just a couple off the top of my head.

That said, I'll still work with you here but you'll need to tell me the exact verse or explain to me how multiple verses and what verses in Romans 1:16-32 state, or even strongly indicate (I'm easy :) ), that a man can't be wise? It may be in there but I tried and just didn't see it so please humor me.

Hi Kenny,
There is no humor here. The wise men in scripture is from the Greek (magoi). A Persian word for men expert in the study of the stars. (astrologer). They were aware of the OT prophecy of the birth of Immenuel. Solomon was wise only because God gave him wisdom that he asked for (1 kings Chapter 3.) . But not being so wise as to to keep the wisdom. He brought adultery, idolatry, the worship of foreign god's and decay to the nation of Israel.(1 Kings Chapter 11). That is why you will not find you answers in one exact verse.. Yes a man can be wise, here's how (Matt. 7:24-27). You will never understand the Word of God through the Adamic nature. It can not understand Spiritual things, it can not obey god nor does it want to.(Rom. 8:5-10). Rom.1 :16-32 is clear, knowing the Truth, all men reject righteousness...not one man is righteous....NONE! Rom. 3:10-18. So, where is the wisdom in men you are talking about? Only of those who are in Christ Jesus who is our wisdom. You must be born again.

OK, Duoglas, I see where you are coming from, and thanks for taking the time to explain.
