Favorite childhood christmas gift...

You wanted it for so long, you HAD to have it. It made you the coolest kid on the block. What was it?

(limited to pre-teen years) :)

What's a lemon twist?

I had many memorable christmas'. I can't really pinpoint one specific item, but the dallas cowboys football uniform was pretty neat.

I also got a nice bmx bike one year only to have it stolen before the new year. - :sad

My GI Joes, those were the large ones in those days we even had the first people of color ones, also, so we had a mixed GI Goe force. And also one of my favorites was my James Bond, brief case, with a German lugar gun and and all kinds of secret agent gadgetry in it. And also Hot Wheels.
Sure wish I had my GI Joe's, I would play with them now. I still have my 1958 or 59 mint condition Lionel train set. Which were the big trains, none of this tiny stuff you see today. I had many Christmas toys, but those are my favorites.

A Thumbelina Doll. She had a little key in her back (remember those) and when you wound her up she would move her head to a little lullaby that would play. I loved that doll. Then, one day, in doing one of the few really nice things that he ever did for me (usually he just tried to beat me up :) ) my brother wound her up a little too tightly and broke the music box part. But, I still loved the doll and carried her with me where ever I went.

A dollhouse my parents bought for my sisters and I to share. It was by far....the most memorable Christmas. My parents were not too well off that year, not that they ever were. But rather than buying us each some form of awesome gift, they bought us three girls something that we would never forget.

LostLamb, that sounds lovely! I always wanted a dollhouse. Still do, in fact!

This thread got me to thinking. I remember one of the best presents I got was a surprise from my uncle. He asked my sister and I to go to the store with him to pick something up. But instead of the grocery store like we thought, we went to the shoe store. He bought us each a pair of the boots we had been wanting so bad! (this was the 70s...the boots were the kind Chrissy wore on Three's Company) I can't tell you how much I wanted those zip-up leather boots with rubber soles. And I actually got them! That was great.

i didnt get alot of those gifts as my family didnt celebrate, but any of the later generation gi.joe, lewis w had the large ones i had the smaller one or the original transormers. i had wheeljack, bumblebee, and cliffjumper. these listed were the ones i wanted and got later.

My favorite Chistmas gift was a twin set of the Green and White Ranger (extremely rare). They were dolls, actually, but the joy that they gave me as a child remains vividly in my memory.

While resistance may be futile, I do have the power of time on my side, and shall go back in it, to avoid assimilation...
the collective is also able to manipulate time.

My favorite Christmas gift had to be one of my porcelain dolls. Then, she fell one day and half her face broke away. So sad! :crying

But I also like giving favorite gifts. My father-in-law used to talk about his favorite toy. Major Matt Mason. I'm not sure how he lost it or if it broke, but 2 Christmases ago, we got him another one. The same model he had as a child, not a remake.

My dad use to listen to Buck Rogers on the radio. It took my grandpa some time, but he finally brought home the right doll that was Buck Rogers. Prett neat. :)
