Better is One Day
How lovely is Your dwelling place Oh Lord Almighty,
For my soul longs And even faints For You
Oh, here my heart Is satisfied (is satisfied) Within Your presence
I sing beneath The shadow of Your wings

Chorus
Better is one day in Your courts
Better is one day in Your house
Better is one day in Your courts
Than thousands elsewhere
Better is one day in Your courts
Better is one day in Your house
Better is one day in Your courts
Than thousands elsewhere
(Than thousands elsewhere)

One thing I ask, And I would seek, To see Your beauty
To find You in The place Your glory dwells
(One thing I ask)
One thing I ask And I would seek, To see Your beauty
To find You in The place Your glory dwells

Chorus x2

(My heart and flesh cry out)
My heart and flesh cry out For You, the Living God
Your Spirit's water for my soul
I've tasted, and I've seen Come once again to me
I will draw near to You I will draw near to You
To You

Better is one day
Better is one day
Better is one day
Than thousands elsewhere
Better is one day in Your courts
Better is one day in Your house
Better is one day in Your courts
Than thousands elsewhere

Is this by Point of Grace? they did a recording of it, anyway, some years ago.

Blessings.

I just watched on youtube a little boy 10 yrs old sing this song. He is blind and has autism.
He was so singing from his heart.

Joseph Hart's 'How good is the God we adore!' is another favorite:

"How good is the God we adore!
Our gracious Redeemer and Friend,
Whose love is as great as His power,
And knows neither measure, nor end.

'Tis Jesus, the first and the last,
Whose Spirit shall guide us safe home,
We'll praise Him for all that is past,
And trust Him for all that's to come."

Blessings.

There are so many beautiful hymns I love, especially those written by Fanny Crosby, but without fail the following hymn is always special to my heart.

It is Well with My Soul.

So sorry to hear about your brother, too, Kathi. Hugs.
And, we learned of Fanny Crosby this year-we Christian Homeschool-she was something! Created by God for a purpose!!! Whew...

Mainly here at home I Praise and Worship with: Paul Wilbur, Grace Williams, and some others. This morning we were looking at the hymn book I bought at a Salvation Army store a few years back and I was drawn to this song:

Charles H. Gabriel

I'll Go Where You Want Me to Go
1st
It may not be on the mountain's height, Or over the stormy sea;
It may not be at the battle's front My Lord will have need of me;
But if by a still, small voice He calls To paths I do not know,
I'll answer, dear Lord, with my hand in Thine, I'll go where you want me to go.

Refrain
I'll go where you want me to go, dear Lord, O'er mountain, or plain, or sea;
I'll say what you want me to say, dear Lord, I'll be what you want me to be.

2nd
Perhaps today there are loving words Which Jesus would have me speak;
There may be now, in the paths of sin, Some wand'rer whom I should seek.
O Savior, if Thou wilt be my Guide, Tho' dark and rugged the way,
My voice shall echo the message sweet, I'll say what you want me to say.

3rd
There's surely somewhere a lowly place In earth's harvest-fields so wide,
Where I may labor thro' life's short day For Jesus, the Crucified.
So, trusting my all unto Thy care, I know Thou lovest me!
I'll do Thy will with a heart sincere, I'll be what you want me to be.
Loving you In Him, N.

I'll Go Where You Want Me to Go
The hymn is one in LDS hymnals under that and different names, though I don’t see their doctrine reflected in the lyrics. Best I could find is that it once started in Baptist churches,

One of my favorites is "Great High Mountain"

Once I stood at the foot of a great high mountain
That I wanted so much to climb
And on top of this mountain was a beautiful fountain
That flows with the water of life

I fell down on my knees at the foot of this mountain
I cried, "O Lord what must I do?
I want to climb this mountain, I want to drink from this fountain
That flows so clear in my view"

Then I heard a sweet voice from the top of this mountain
Saying, "Child put your hand in mine"
I started climbing slowly, "Watch your steps at the edges
And take one step at a time"

I started climbing upward taking one step at a time
The higher I got the harder I climbed

I'm still climbing upward and my journey's almost ended
I'm nearing the top and you ought to see the view
Oh the water flows freely, there's enough to make you free
So friend if you're thirsty climb this mountain with me

Another "Great is Thy Faithfulness"
That was my grandmothers all time favorite hymn (she went home to The Lord September 16th of 2013). This song brings back such wonderful memories.

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father
There is no shadow of turning with Thee
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be

This song reminds me of my Grandmother who passed many years ago as I can still hear her singing this. She was the greatest Spiritual influence in my life.

I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses.

Refrain:
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.

He speaks, and the sound of His voice,
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing.

Refrain:
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.

I'd stay in the garden with Him
Though the night around me be falling,
But He bids me go; through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling.

Refrain:
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.

Oh Lord You Are So Good. Thank You for Songs About You and Our Life With You!

I remember another one now. One that absolutely gets me going is "Sweet Beulah Land" by Mike Purkey! Wow.

I had a friend, now with the Lord, who loved this hymn, too

Blessings.
