I guess this technology is getting to the old bureaucratic cronies who can't keep up with it. Unlike a phone line which can be wire-tapped, this new communication software is encrypted and can't be busted easily so they have the gall to ask software companies to put a "back door" tapping ability in them.

Most are against this. All except Microsoft, of course, that has a cheeky willingness to kiss up to this so much so that the Feds have to wipe the lipstick off their bottoms. You see, Microsoft already has such a plan in place privately called "Legal Intercept" , and this is reminiscent of what I said earlier as to why Microsoft catches so many "viruses" --- the same back door that they use to spy on people is the same one that virus writers exploit--- Microsoft is of course the only OS that one has to walk on excessive eggshells doing simple surfing on the Internet due to this fear.
