Fear?

<style type="text/css">p { margin-bottom: 0.08in; }a:link { }</style> John 20:1 Now on the first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, while it was yet dark, unto the tomb, and seeth the stone taken away from the tomb. (ASV)

We, Christians, have just celebrated the resurrection of our LORD and it is my prayer that we would learn a few of the many lessons that are there to be taught in His resurrection. One of the most commonly needed and avoided is on fear. Before Jesus departed and before He was cruelly ailed to the cross, Jesus, who is God in the flesh of a man, gave a command to His followers:
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful. (ASV)

And yet, in spite of this I see fear manifested in the Brethren all the time. Folks, inside the Church Family speak constantly on matters such as where will I ever get enough money to take care of my wife and my children, what with the cost of gas and it causing everything to cost more but we aren't getting any raises in our pay?

And honestly, this is just the sort of thing our LORD was talking about. So, do we have the faith of Mary or of Paul and John? These men and women ha held tightly to the belief that Jesus was Who He said He was, they believed He was God. They also knew from attending services that God was eternal and yet Mary, Peter and John went to the tomb to begin attending, properly, to the dead body of God.

When Mary found the tomb empty, she went immediately to the men to tell them what she had seen and what she had concluded. When John out-ran Peter he was not sure of what to do next and Peter, old foot in the mouth Peter ran right past John to begin processing what he had been taught by Jesus in the light of the circumstances. But then it appears that te men left Mary and maybe the other women there alone as it seems to me that they walked back to their house, discussing what had happened and how it fit with what Jesus had taught them.

But then Mary, bless her sweet ad loving heart stood there weeping until Jesus spoke to her. As soon as Jesus dismissed her, she went, as fast as she could run to inform the e of what had happened and that she had spoken to and had touched Jesus! Mary knew that Jesus had been murdered on the cross and that the same fate was probably her destiny, after all the Disciples were huddled in the upper room with the doors and windows bared trying to figure what they should do when they would hear those Roman boots stomping out the cadence as they would come to arrest, force them into a trial ad then execute them, just as they had done to the LORD!

So I ask you, and I do not need the answer... you do, who have you told today? And. If you, truly, believe, why are you living with fear? And finally... who besides Satan is your fearful silence pleasing?

Mr. Taylor, I always look forward to your posts, but I assume that it is due to your failing health that you can't post as often as I would like you to. I always take something from your messages.

I had a particularly rough week. My frame of mind is never the best over Easter for obvious reasons. Please don't misunderstand. I am eternally grateful that God sent His Son to die for my sin, but it makes me incredibly depressed to think that I caused my beloved Jesus so much pain. I can't even begin to fathom exactly how much pain my LORD had to endure to save me.
And in this frame of mind, I thought that I lost a very, very dear friend. A human one.
My daughter is sick and last night I dreamt that I came across her lifeless little body.

Thank you for making a difference to my spiritual life with your powerful messages. May the good LORD bless you in abundance, and may He use you to reach even more people.

Yet even so, at times, "Lord I believe, Help my unbelief." Now that too is faith!

Be blessed, Stay blessed!

Just a year ago I was much more active in my service to our LORD but as this disease and the injuries from my combat duty have taken root deeper into my person I have fewer good days but post as much as I am able and have a word from God. I don't know if I much of a blessing but if there is any it is because God love a fool enough to save him! I pray that your little one will heal because it the hardest thing in life to loose your children. God Bless.

I’m sorry for the misunderstanding. My daughter and I are very close because we have been through so much in our short time together. (She’s only six) She isn’t terminally ill. She’s just not well at the moment, and I tend to be over protective. The dream just upset me.

Have you lost a child, Mr. Taylor? It seems like it from your post.<O:p</O:p

Luke 12:
32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

1 John 4:
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Hebrews 13:
6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

2 Timothy 1:
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Proverbs 19:
23 The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

Psalm 91:
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Fear is nothing more than a sin of unbelief in the promises of God. If we are walking in fear then we are not in the Spirit of God as we are allowing this flesh to rule over that of Gods Spirit that should be dwelling in us. Either you trust God in all things or you deny him in everything. I praise you Lord in the good times and in the bad times as I know you will never leave me nor forsake me and will supply all my need, amen.

Luke 12:22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
Luke 12:23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
Luke 12:24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
Luke 12:25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
Luke 12:26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
Luke 12:27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Luke 12:28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is today in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
Luke 12:29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
Luk 12:30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
Luke 12:31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Luke 12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Luke 12:33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
Luke 12:34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Fear is not a sin, it is how you handle that fear, fear is what leads alot of people to the father, for he gives us hope, overcoming fear with the Holy Father's help is what strengthens our faith.

No, my experience with death is muti-incident because killing was my profession for eight years and when you are busy in such endeavors you can grow closer to you comrades than to any other person on the earth. I'll even go so far as to say that the man I speak of, I loved and respected more than any of my children. My very close partner was a man named Hienen and he took an 81mm mortar in the chest and when I went to find him, he did not come to the bunker, his head was looking at me from the 105mm shell box he used for a book case. That was in November 0f '66 and I still awake at night from being startled at finding him and from many other dreams.

I have made it my ministry to just sit and to listen to folks as they grieve and I must admit that the most painful is the lose of a child. Most folks make the mistake of attempting to shorten the grief with platitudes but that is impossible and very irritating to the survivors, I know, all that brought me any relief in Vietnam, for the next three months was the death of the VC and the NVA... Neither useful nor Christian, just true is all. My prayer go up to Heaven for your child for the most precious to any mom is her children. God bless.

I'm so sorry. I truely am. I once lost someone that I loved very deeply and thinking of him still brings tears to my eyes.

Thank you for the prayers. My little one is doing much better. Please know that I pray that the Good LORD will keep you close to His heart.
I think about you so often and how it must feel to face such a challenge and here you come to tell me of your ministry and how you used all these horrible experiences to help others. You are an remarkble man, Mr Taylor.

God bless you.

thank you for your concern but the truth is that i am not the man my LORD saved, He has made me new. And I'm, in my later years, smart enough, finally, to realize that without him I can do and have done nothing. i am living proof that God loves. during my second tour of duty in Vietnam we took some troops to the Ho Che Minh Trail in Laos, where we never were, and my helicopter took two days and nights to patch all the bullet holes and not one man on any of the eight Choppers was injured. We were quite properly impressed and terrified but none were injured! That's a miracle, performed by my LORD. You see, I am blessed! And I'm home-sick and I've never been home yet.

<div_prefs id="div_prefs"></div_prefs>
Very appropriate title and subject. Fear is something that all of the disciples had right after Christ was crucified. They feared what would happen if the Roman authorities found out about them and who they were. But the resurrection was a game changer! After they witnessed Christs return, their fear no longer existed-- They separated to spread the word to the rest of the world and eventually suffered torturous deaths...For example Peter denied him 3X prior the crucifiction and after the resurrection he spent the rest of his life preaching the gospel and when was crucified he ask to be upside down because he wasn't worthy to die the same as Jesus----These people walked with Christ daily and knew Him in flesh and still it took Christs resurection for them to have complete faith in Him. The biggest burden for me to ever ride myself of is the ideology of fear and promise

Its not about the fear of hell and its not about the promise of heaven----
