Female Bishops?

Two points:
1. "I THINK..." - huge problem right there. Your personal opinion is not above God's word and has no bearing on this subject.
2. Disobeying God is never a great idea. Never.

Flat out impossible. Being in rebellion to God's word will only end very badly, for both the individual and the church supporting the individual.

"i think" is just as good as 10 people interpreting Gods' word differently

Anything that contradicts God's word CANNOT be of His spirit. He made that very clear. Father, Son, Holy Spirit are ONE, that means the Spirit will never contradict the Father and Son, and He will never contradict God's word. If a spirit does contradict, then it's not the Spirit of God.
Amen!

The statement of the truth has been revealed in full is personal opinion. We all come at the bible and God from different angles and starting places. We all bring an element of ourselves to the table, you think Paul was immune to that? That's another personal opinion.
The faith was once for all delivered to the saints. (Jude 3).

Grazer: I don't think we have the full truth since Jesus has yet to return and God has yet to bring in the new heaven and the new earth. Personal opinion.
And you would be wrong:

Col 1:25 I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness - 26 the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints.

You think the bible contains absolutely everything about God and his plans?

The Bible teaches discernment for all situations. For the casual reader of the Bible, they will not mature in this discernment. That is why scriptures say, "Study to show thyself approved". It's not about spitting back the right answer, it's about discerning scripture to bring forth good, tangible fruit in every situation.

Every thought Paul wrote was guided with scripture as an example...

This thread should come with a warning that there are liberal Christians loose on it!!

Yeah, but the universal truth contained in the law of gravity dictates that you can only hold onto that tree for so long before you land back on solid ground. ;)

Oh not this low-brow stuff again........

I am quite confident that I will be able to show that your arguments that this respected scholar is lying do not have a shred of merit.

Hey Drew, here's the lowbrow again.

Looks as if you haven't been able to show that Wright isn't misusing scripture. I'm eagerly waiting, but not holding any breaths.

BTW, just to remind you of our unfinished business. When are Abraham Isaac and Jacob (and others) going to receive the land promised to them for an inheritance, if not in the kingdom of God?

Apart from in the coming Kingdom of God on the earth, I mean.

Hi Brethren,

I cannot understand. Church of England is headed by Queen and she appoints men Bishops. Then why women could not be a Bishop?

Also, Jesus died as the Lamb of God meaning that to get rid of these Priests standing between man and God. These blind guides cause sectarian riots all over the world.

That is why in Christ Jesus, we are the sons of Most High, the Labourers employed in the Vineyard of our Father where the True Vine Christ Jesus has been Planted by our Father. This Vineyard has a very Narrow Gate that only the Solitary can pass.

So, in Jesus, we need to be solitary capable of giving our own accounts to God. These Dog-Collared Priests or the Bishops cannot give your account to God.

So, we need Fellowship of Seekers to amass His Treasures, the Oil needed for our Lamps to meet our Father.

Do what Jesus did? He did not make a following of the blind Disciples but he encouraged Solitary Virgin Labourers capable of entering into the Royal Kingdom of God. Messianic Jews corrupted the New Testament and introduced Judaic practices.

Hi Nijhar

Christianity is supposed to be a Bible based religion. Right? Right.

Ever seen pictures on TV or the papers of the bishops of almost all the churches? (I say 'almost' because there may be some that don't fall into this mould).

Here are a few:

And you mentioned dog collars:

OK?

Now show me, from the New Testament, any justification for this farce.

So when you've failed to find any, I want to ask you this question:

Why are we talking about female bishops and female priests?

Shouldn't we be talking about whether there should be 'bishops' and 'priests at all?

I agree. While the Catholic Church was indeed needed initially to preserve the church from perversion, it also strayed far off of the path. Some decisions to retain money and power, other decisions, I couldn't tell you, at least not in a quick post. They actually really piss me off. I'm not going to lie.

The reasons the priests aren't able to marry has history. At first they could. Everytime they married, land would be given to their family. The church realized that this would lead to them losing too much of their land so they enforced the no marriage clause. England strayed from the Catholic church because in many cases when people died they would give their land to the church. England realized in time they would loose their whole country to the church.

How does this have anything to do with female bishops?

I was simply in agreement with the poster above my post that there shoudn't be any bishops, male or female.
