this is the message she just sent Started church in Oct. Christian Life Center. Love this place. Not in a woman's bible study yet, plan to s peak to a lady at church this weekend a bout one. My knowledge of the bible is limited. My cousin said yo read Genesis am d John first. More later im still trying to sleep. . admittedly this early in morn not feeling good hard to function but tis good news

i agree do we as the church today know how to decipleship? i mean in reality our sunday school classes should have a big role in this..yes it comes from the pulpit also but the pastor has a full time job feeding the sheep. lets face it in today world that is a task . some are just there for milk and cookies not steak and potatoes

Didn't Jesus give us instructions on how to "discipleship"? I don't think it involved Sunday school classes or actually even the pulpit.

"Do this in commemoration of me" is what Jesus commands. What is "this" new covenant / testament Jesus instructs us to do?

The "this" Jesus refers to is thus the normative means by which man has true discipleship, which is communion with God. For He is truly present amongst His people, Emmanuel.

When i made the comment about Antipas understanding all too well i was referring to..

Revelation 2:12 And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges;
13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.

Does anyone know what the name Antipas means?

No, I dont. But if you want to start a new thread in the Bible Study forum and leave a link here, that would be great.

yes and no iam not sure we fully understand "discipleship" but it does start in the pulpit and the sunday school class ..our biggest problem today is out literature is so geared up toward church doctrine.. baptist have there way any other church denom.. we never get the full meat of the lesson.the questions are good. we as the church need to learn to give them milk then move to strong meat

Ohh my goodness everyone! I am so sorry! On December 9th I made a software setting on our blog and I had no idea it deleted all the posts from this thread. I am so embarrassed.
I just finished restoring all of the comments on this blog entry and now I'll check the rest and recover any lost post as well.
Sorry, I can't believe this happened December 9th and I just caught it.
