yes, swim, boat, fish , dive. its a massive rec sight in the state. did you see the docs? why would an army base have docs?

You can't really tell that it's crystal clear, but it's the roundest lake I've ever seen. lol

we used to call that stinger lake but what the stinger platoon did during at isn't for discussion and its classified. secret beer missions... I wasn't there to see but heard and I never drank.

head south of that base to the circular roads in the middle of it. tell me what you think it is? and here if you cant find it.View attachment 5993

In the middle? It looks like 2 lakes.
look closely, compare the image I posted to the one you are staring at. I have seen that. its huge like that and its a guess for you to tell me. if you noticed there is something there that says something about it on google earth. its wrong. I put that there but its not that off. just the time, lol. these are still used. I can post more of them from old ww2 bases to present ranges that are active.

I cant believe the asp(ammo supply point) didn't change for decades.

Are you talking about all the circles with a bull's eye in the middle - I have no idea what it is.

Is that your house? lol
no that? that is one of four motels that still stand. it had an anchor in front of it a sunken steamship from the hms Breconshire. which is a favorite diving spot. if you are in florida with google earth head toward vero beach and look for sexton plaza. look for the dive emblem. click on it and enjoy the images of the boiler.

the other three motels were all the same and were raised in the 80's only that still stands.

yes it a naval bombing range they place vehicle or what not in the middle and drop rounds in it. I noticed one in my town near a road so I asked a army aviation mechanic about that and he sent me a link to what they are and how they were used. bombs with orange dust were used to show the pilot where he missed or hit.

Is it still an active hotel?

no, apartments. the other building I have posted is an old hotel and now apartments on the top floor and I haven't been inside that since I was a boy. the bottom floor has two restaurants. when I was a kid that was called Patrick's pizza. when it was that I had a large dining area and showed the old silent movies and talkies. I watched a lot of three stooges from that era and also Charlie chaplain.

Interesting. Good idea to show movies from that era, even though they're silent. haha Never ever seen a 3 Stooge show.
