The Lord’s commandments were written for our benefit. He knew that if we committed adultery, committed murder, stole, bore false witness, or committed other sins, we’d get into trouble. He was merely trying to spare us that.
 
The Lord's commandments are our guideline to help us live a life that is pleasing to the Father as His greatest commandment is love which if we could just follow this one simple command we would not break any of the other ones.
