[__ Prayer __] for those w/o family...

...let's say a little prayer. Suicide rates go up during the Holidays. Some people are in mental hospitals, jail, prison, off in other countries serving our country, etc.

There's lots of people w/o friends and family all around. I was just thinking we could offer up a prayer for those people.

Suicide rates are very high during the Holidays.Also the Holidays are very difficult for the mentally ill.

yeah, if it wasn't for my family...wow. I'd be completely lost. Being "mad in america" is terrifying.

Do you know what I think would be terrifying?It would be the thought that this world is all there is.There is hope.We have heaven.This life on earth is just a very,very short journey we are taking.Then we have an eternity in heaven.That is forever and ever and never ending

Prayers are definitely in order for all who are alone or are suffering during this time.

Some university students attempt suicide during this time as well. This is when they learn whether they are passing or failing classes. Some of those who find they are failing classes cannot handle this fact, and opt to end their lives instead of returning home to discuss what happened.

yeah, its ridiculous, how hard things can be when you're alone over the Holidays. I remember being at Teen Challenge over the holidays. Depressing! And that wasn't even all that bad, all things considered.

This would be a great time for our churches to step up, to plan a day where people without families could gather, enjoy a meal, perhaps play monopoly (or games of some sort) and share in fellowship. Even churches have members who are alone, and who might be willing to put together a fun gathering.

Holy Father, I pray right now for those that are alone during our holiday season, as we celebrate your birth, your life for us.
Many people have no family, no place to live, or are alone for other reasons.
I remember, I was there once.
Christmas was the loneliest day of the year.
I remember it being cold, alone, nothing on my 3 tv channels (couldn't afford cable), no family to have dinner with, no money, no one to buy a gift for and no one giving me a gift.
But most of all, I remember that I had no relationship with you.
I was very lonely and depressed.
There are many like that today.
I do pray for them all.

I pray that they will seek you, for you will surely comfort them and give them hope, and give them life that they so much desire.
I pray that you put people in their path now, that will cheer them up and show them that someone really does care.
I pray that you will continue to use me to make a difference to people around me.
This wonderful life you have given me, filled with your love, I pray that I can give the same to others.
Use me Lord to make a difference this holiday season, right now.
