Mark, that video has the funkiest glitch. I tried to edit it by replacing the video, but it still starts it up here on the board and plays it at the same time (off a few seconds) when it opens another tab for youtube. I see you tried to edit it yourself, so maybe you saw this too. I've never seen this happen before.

I remember discussing this with you when you first joined CFnet. Since then, I've come to understand you much more, and I have tremendous respect for your faith (and for your staunchly conservative fiscal views!). In the video, it says it brings together people with similar values. It also brings together people of many different faiths and seems to place them all on equal footing. In a sense, another god is just as honorable as the One True God, or at least you are encouraged to treat them as such when assembled. I've never been able to understand why a Christian wouldn't find another community service-based organization to join that edifies the Living Triune God. :shrug

Thanks Mike. I know, we've discussed this before, and I respect your opinion. You're a good man.

A lot of non-masons are convinced that we worship some kind of alternative god in lodge, we don't. Masonry is a fraternity where men of integrity and faith can support each other, but masonry is not a religion.

The reason I posted this clip about Prince Hall masons (black masons) is that I've sat in lodge with them many times, as we have a hall where their lodge and ours meet on different nights, and we share a lot of nights together. One of the most serious and Christian men I know, as a friend and masonic brother, is a very powerful, charismatic preacher at one of our African Episcopal Methodist churches. And many of the blacks in my congregation are Prince Hall masons. I hate to see them maligned as not being good Christians.
