Freewill Versus Free-Reign

When Satan saw that mankind was created in God's own image it presented a dilemma to Satan for Satan didn't know how much of a likeness it was? Was man like God, or was his ability constrained. For, as we now know, that while all of God's creations have free-will, they don't have free-reign.

The tree of the knowledge of good and evil showed Satan two things. One, man lacked total 'God like' knowledge since the tree held additional knowledge. And two, since the tree was forbidden to man, man also lacked God's total free-reign.

When Satan tempted Eve, Satan showed an embarrassing lack of understanding about God's 'new' creation, for mankind had the likeness of God but they didn't possess the ability of God, meaning total free-reign.

Now fast forward to Satan's temptation of Jesus Christ in the desert. Here you have Jesus Christ, God become man, confounding Satan yet again. If Jesus Christ is in fact God become man does that mean Jesus Christ has willingly given up his total free-reign as a God to become a lowly man just to save mankind from their sins?

Notice the temptations Satan presented to Jesus Christ in the desert. They were all linked to free-reign that Jesus had as God. Satan tempted Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden to desire total free-reign like God. Then we see in Satan's temptation of Jesus Christ that Satan tempted Jesus to forgo his human constraint incurred as a result of becoming a man with limited free-reign and instead claim total free-reign again over everything as God.

Jesus Christ did indeed give up his status and stature of being God that he once had with unlimited knowledge and unlimited free-reign just to save all of us from our sins by becoming man! When Jesus Christ became man he willingly placed upon himself the same constraints placed on Adam and Eve meaning he gave up the free-reign that he enjoyed as God the Son along with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit!

Jesus Christ proves that faith and trust in God is more important than having total 'individual' free-reign. Love sacrifices all, while sin covets everything.

God Bless

:goodpostWow my friend ugmug, you have presented a very true picture of Freewill versus Free-reign! Bravo!! This is very educational spiritually speaking. I hope everyone reads this. I loved how you put these things together in an easy to understand format. Again, :goodpost:amen

I liked what you said here........."for mankind had the likeness of God but they didn't possess the ability of God". We are all created in Gods image, but the desire of the heart as in freewill has led so many away from knowing Gods power and authority. They have no understanding of Gods will as they seek after their own. Only God has reign in our lives as He presents us with that of blessings or cursing, Deuteronomy
Chapter 27, 28, but it is our own freewill choices that sets the stage in our lives leaving free reign to be that of God and how we do or do not interact with Him.
