this was a full service gas station and garage. it is now closed. it was open up to decemember and stopped selling gas about two years before. I am old enough to remember leaded gas and also full and self serve gas stations and long before the 7 11's , Cumberland farms and wa wa type stations. the glass area here is where one could find snacks and so forth. in my state one would have tourist attractions and post cards and also fruit to buy . hale groves, and gracewood come to mind and others. it was common to have bushels out in the isle for sale and also these stands also were always along well traveled roads, this station is one of them that could have had that. perhaps the owner who knows I tagged him will comment on his memories of the running this. what is your recollections of cars, old dinners and such things?

Way back when, my grandfather made footage of fl in the early 60s...
There is an entire fb page dedicated on Florida the way it used to be.i posted a series of my photos of this a few minutes ago.

I post there often. If you have his photos please post much of the pre Disney attractions are gone.
Of these I went to gatorland zoo,Miami serptentarium,Miami seaquarium, flipper was still there, and mckee was closed by the time I was three .it is reopened but nothing like it was

i vaguely remember seeing some video...somebody in the family had it put on vhs...technicolor of poor share croppers and such...crazy, really. i'll have to ask mah dad about it...

Related ,i plan to visit titusville .j saw a few things I need to photo. It was once my county's seat ejej it was all brevard county .old homes, churches in that area

Gatorland in orlando? Its still around.

I remember a full service gas station in my area when I was a kid in the 80s. For some reason it also reminds me of those old credit card transactions where they used carbon paper to make and imprint of the card on the receipt.

Knuckle buster ,gatorland zoo was deland.irc .I know it was around still but I was mentioning the ones I went too the other two are closed.

The home ,still stands. I have a photo untouched Spanish home, it would fit on the mainland

Knuckle buster - yup! I had to use one every once and a while when I worked retail in HS and college.

I haven't been to Bok Tower yet but I want to go when the azaleas are blooming.
If you make it to Titusville, head inland a bit for Fort Christmas (if you haven't been already).

Sometimes I think growing up in Central FL has spoiled me rotten. When I was in school, our field trips would be to places like NASA, Universal Studios, Epcot, I think Gatorland too. We went to Fort Christmas at one point too but I don't remember what grade.
