I've seen JP Holding's "Screwballs of the Month", and include a link to it somewhere in the FSTDT FAQ.

My personal opinion of the site is that the site just isnt funny."

I guess you have trouble laughing at yourself. I also see that you were not too quick to include "Screwball of the month" as a link here. So I will:
http://www.tektonics.org/parody/screwball.html

But one site you may even have more fun laughing at could be this one:
You may be a fundy atheist if....
http://www.tektonics.org/parody/fundyath.html

Note the last few points in the high 270's....

Remember, you claimed it is healthy to laugh at yourself.

Here's to your good health!

However, the atheist can take the entirely legitimate position that there is no absolute truth and yet not claim certainty in respect to his claim. And I suspect that this is what most atheists would do. So it is a bit of a cheap shot to somehow represent the atheist as being internally inconsistent.

Does this avoid the problem? I am not sure that it does. The concept appears to be a contradiction, does how "certain" they are about it really save the position?

Hello DivineNames:

I think I made a mistake. I agree that it seems almost impossible that our universe could be put together in such a way that there are no absolute truths (in the general sense). In order for a universe to be something other than absolute nothingness, something has to be factually true about that Universe. A Universe devoid of factual truths is the "empty set" or "nothingness".

So you are right if you (and others) are saying that an atheist cannot legitimately say "There are no absolute truths in the general sense".

However, as I said in my first post, I think the atheist is usually making claims about moral absolutes and it is certainly not at all obvious that there couldn't be a universe without moral absolutes.

I find many atheists (those that refer to themselves as 'positive atheists') to be as rigidly Fundamentalist as are the Fundamentalist Chritians, but they just aren't very amusing. Most positive atheists I have read are at least moderately intelligent but dull as the back side of a knife. Their arguments comparing Christian belief to the Easter bunny and so forth are poorly constructed and self-aggrandizing...as if they don't take many things on faith, as we do. We all do.

That being said, the FSTDT site is by far the funnier of the two.

Like this
"I just had a very eerie thought while working--this may have been addressed before, if so, I apologize. We come to this board for fellowship, to keep each other up on current events, to gather as believers and support each other. Are we being watched? There are many groups out there that think the "religious right" and Christians are a bunch of whacks that present a threat to the coming governmental plans, One World Order, etc. Could they be watching and what do they glean from our posts? Of course, with God for us who can be against us, but there are some mighty evil and powerful people out there that don't like the intelligent discussions we are having--we are too smart for them. Just a thought."

And this one, from our friend Heidi
"How can man be descending and evolving at the same time? Which is it?It appears that Darwin can't make a statment without contradicting himself."

or this gem
"A somewhat typical report from so-called science. Scientists simply refuse to believe in anything unless there is proof. How sad."

best one liner
"Mars has never mint to be inhabited, so don't even go there."

And what exactly is he or she saying here?

"I simply can't bring myself to watch anything that mocks or makes fun of our Lord. It just makes me feel sick when I see it.

Actually, I was in a restaurant with my family the other day, and someone in the booth next to us was goofing off with her friend and shouted "JC", and it was all I could do not to jump into her booth and throw down with her. "
:o

Love this
"This is for Bible-believing Christians only. If you are a Catholic, please refrain from commenting here, thanks."

This guy is a catch, ladies
In fact, I very much like women and wish them well, which is precisely why I consider women's rights to be a disease that should be eradicated.

Much love and rods of iron
This world, in 400 years, will be completely under Christ's reign, which He will rule with a rod of iron. [clapping hands]

In His love, My Abba's Child"

Thanks to FSTDT for all the laughs. I have bookmarked the site.
