There is a huge industry out there and regarding the gender distribution of tattoo placements and designs, there are often unspoken assumptions. I'm not sure I completely agree with this article, where it says: "One of the most popular places that girls love to get tattooed is their wrist. .. Girls often use fashionable wrist jewelery to have a stylish look. Most of the girls don't leave their wrist bare and completely utilize it to add a unique fashion element to their appearance. .. Remember that tattoos are one of the best ways to express yourself. Wrist tattoos for girls are a great place to initiate the tattoo journey." Wrist Tattoos for Girls

There is some truth to all this, of course. Where we maybe come in is in the suitability or otherwise of this placement for a small faith related design, usable in witness situations, if this makes any sense?

I personally don't like the idea of tattoos.

I also know we live in the world we do. I would much rather my daughter had a flower or faith based tattoo then the Van Halen :nono2 around her ankle.

Some how i cant picture a Christian tattoo parlor. But then i play pool and a few years back what a sin!

I would draw a line in tat placement as to its 'OK ness' . A Christian tat artist would not place a tat on certain parts. The wrist sounds safe. I just dont buy things are ok in the name of 'art'

If i had a tat that was not christian, upside down cross or 666, i would with out doubt remove or tattoo over them. And hope to find Christian parlor....

As usual, your comment seems rather thoughtful; ty.

So what you mentioned, your daughter getting a wrist tattoo with a faith element, would be something that you on balance thought was ultimately positive for her?

(I guess you also mean you haven't up to now gotten or considered one.)

Thanks.

My daughter will be 44 in a few days. No she is not getting a faith based tat Sadly she is not faith based :shame

Leaving aside being pro or con, they are hugely topical, I reckon.

not really. i am in the military as i dont seem that much on the young pups. yes some have them and its more common then before, but not that common. in Florida if you get alot of tats and they show. no job for you.

Well, keep praying; I sure you do, constantly.

I'm sure it would thrill you if one day she showed up with a faith based tat that referred to a spiritual, Christian reality (and of course the inward doesn't depend on the outward).

God bless.

As the proud owner of five tattoos and as a Christian I would suggest this.

Male: Upper arms (where mine are), calf, chest, and upper back. Forearms, wrist, hands and neck are available but with that placement you might draw criticism, limit job options ..

Female: .. In my opinion placement options include ankles (where my wife has hers), feet and upper back. The same caveat as above applies.
..
I use mine when talking to people about God. .. It challenges preconceived notions and opens a pathway that otherwise would be closed. But even without that they are special to me. All five of them remind me who I am and what I hold close.

As a Christian getting their first tattoo it is up to you to do your due diligence. You have to study. Your relationship with God is not mine. I have decided that for me and as I read the Word that a tattoo is not a sin. You make up your own mind.
..
My wife, sister-in-law and their mother all have the same tattoo on the same place.
..My wife is pretty much done. She has one and that’s all she wants. I on the other hand…
I don’t know if it’s the endorphins or what but once you get the first one the draw is most definitely there to get more. You have to be careful. You have to be stronger then that urge. .

Rocky: Yes, well it sounds like they are quite meaningful for you guys and you enjoy having the extra opportunity for faith related discussions with people.

Re. the urge for more, the endorphins, feeling the draw for further tattoos: sounds like your wife was quite decisive; she knew what she wanted, and has definite ideas when to stop, as well. (Don’t be surprised if, in the event that your mother-in-law gets further tattooed, your wife and sister-in-law at least discuss the possibility of getting more, as well; but they alone would know how strong any such urge would be.)
