Get Out Of Our Lives

Lewis

Member
A friend of mine and D46 named mlurp sent me this, so I thought that I would pass it on. because it is so true.

This one will make you think

In light of the many perversions and jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke, it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking.

Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her "How could God let something like this happen?" (regarding the attacks on Sept. 11).

Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said, "I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives.

And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?"

In light of recent events...terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found recently) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK.

Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school . the Bible says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said OK.

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with "WE REAP WHAT WE SOW."

Funn y how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says.

Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing.

Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing?

Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they WILL think of you for sending it. Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.

Pass it on if you think it has merit. If not then just discard it... no one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don't sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in!!

I've read that a couple of times before, and it does have a good message. A message that will make you think. Thanks for sharing.

I think it is trying to answer the age old problem of how an all loving, compassionate God would allow for suffering. It is a common answer: we have done something to displease God. This happens all the time.

However, it doesn't seem to add up. For one, all Madeleine Murray O'Hare did was get the schools from pushing students to pray. A Christian student can pray in school as much now as before.

Also, USA is the most religious Christian Nation. So why would God feel pushed out of the country that recognized Him the most?

So is this article saying that if we spanked our childdren more, that terrorists would not attack us? Or a good child beating will bring God back to defend America?

I think articles like this trash God more than what really happens. It makes God to be a petty being that only helps out if someone appeals to His egotism.

Quath we expect this from you. You never disappoint us, we know what to expect from you. But when you, look up in torment, as Luke 16 says. Then you will know, need I say more.

Maybe instead of being so centered on itself America could take a look at what is happening in Israel and relate it to what God says He will cause to happen to those who take a stance against this nation (Israel).

Over the past 15 years it is quite amazing to look at how tragedies in the US seem to be closely linked with some sort negative action taken by the US against Israel.

Check it out you might be surprised by what you find out.

Start with the destruction of homes in the Gaza strip a few months ago,...... just a few day before the destruction of the most homes in the history of the US.

In love,
cj

Don't give up hope in Quath yet, Lewis. God may still move in his heart, and I pray that He does.

Yes Cly, God could change his heart. And Quath could become, one power house of a Christian. Sort of like what Christ did to Paul, I can see it now Quath, a strong spreader of the Gospel, strong in the Lord and the power of His might. Quath will become a T.V. evangelist on TBN, and the Word Network, and traveling the globe, spreading the good Word of Jesus Christ.
Yeah I can see it Cly, never doubt our God.

I would call my denomination "Quathalicism." It would have a good run, but then the scandals would add up. It would probably all end up with me in court saying "She sure didn't look like a cop to me."

Good times. Good times. :)

I see what you are saying, however; I think Quath has made some good points.

That was a lame article.......

Very lame....

Its the "abused child syndrome" or something close to it.....

An All Perfect, All Powerful God that needs nothing and is superior in every way turning His back on his imperfect Creation because they didnt kiss enough butt or say enough Hail Mary's......

Give me a break......

Read Job for the "Christian" response to suffering.....

Satan is responsible for it.... not God....

Athough God allows it to "test" the humans or some such thing.... :crying:

I get soo many forwarded emails from friends and familly that are really religous. And i never understand why they keep sending them to me.. it is pretty annoying..

Soma, what happens in your life if you quit praying and reading your Bible? Do you not find that things get more chaotic? In my experience, if I stray from God, things start going askew in my life. What the article is saying is that we, as a nation, have strayed from God. Because of that, we are not necessarily being punished, but we are reaping what we sowed. God doesn't bless those who don't bless Him. We've rejected God, put Him on the back burner, said we can do things without Him, and this is the result of our choices.

Think of the number of times that the nation of Israel strayed in the Old Testament. Every time they did, they were defeated by someone else, or some other problem began. They rejected God, and as a result, they lost His protection - His blessing.

The same has happened here in the US. We're not necessarily God's holy nation, but He has blessed us immensely. Now that we are rejecting Him, we can expect our blessings to cease. That's just the way it is.

It's not about sucking up, it's about blessing God through obedience, which is something the United States is not doing.

If you don't believe in freedom of choice (as some of our OSAS folks do) then the article could be considered lame. "What kind of a God just abandons us when He wants to save us?" Technically, all those folks who believe in predestination and OSAS shouldn't agree with Graham's daughter.

However, we see that in Revelation, the angels unleash the 'winds of strife' from the four corners of the earth.' In other words, the only thing really keeping this world going is the protection of God.

When we decide to turn our back on God and tell Him that we don't want Him in our lives, He respects our freedom of choice to do so and walks away. When we dabble with the occult or decide to put ourselves on Satan's ground, giving him a foothold, God allows him to work iniquity.

When we aren't holding on to God's hand and allowing Him to be a part of our lives, bad things do happen. We are not safe in our dying, decaying world without the protection of our mighty Creator. It is only because of His protecting power that the world doesn't collapse in on itself.

Finally, God will ultimately remove that protection from the earth in the last days and reserve only for those who hold close to Him. Then all hell will break loose.

CLY, yes this nation, has been blessed to the max, no other nation on earth has ever come up this quick like America, and be blessed with the wealth, that she has, and become a world leader like she has, in only a few hundread years. America, not all but most, have turned their back on God, and sometimes God will allow things to happen. What do you think God is playing around ? America likes to glorify herself, but God said His Glory will He not share. Mankind in this country and other places, have come to think that he is God. Man is so full of himself, that they have removed the mention of God from the schools almost. Man has come to depend on himself for all the answers, man believes that there is no limit, to what he can do. American man takes the laws of God and decides if it is legal or not. If God says NO, man says yes. Like abortion God says no. But America says we will decide this, not you God, so God would you please step back please, we will handle our own affairs. There are still some things in the Bible, that have to be fulfilled, but time is winding down America.

I'm not really sure why some would have such an issue with this. History and the scriptures are filled with such scenarios. The Isralites are a prime example of God allowing them to suffer the consequences of their rebellion by removing His protecting power.

Babylon is another example of God bringing down the pomp, bragging, prideful, 'man is God' philosophy to ruin because they ignore the one true God. The Philistines are another example.

At least with the Babylonians and the Philistines, they were pagans who only believed in themselves. Look at America! The hypcocrisy of the nation alone must be abhorrent to God. They speak out of both sides of their mouth, stamping 'In God we Trust' on their money and invoking His name in Presidential addresses and then telling him that to mention His name is against the law in certain situations and filling their lives with debauchery, self gratification and immorality.

No wonder Muslims think they are the 'infidel'. They are more likely angered by the hypocrisy towards God they see then the fact that they consider them 'terrorists'.

In my opinion, despite the religious fanaticism, they have a point.

You make some excellent points in your post. I can't argue with a bit of it.

...Yes, which is why I wonder why we use this as an excuse for the idolatrous practitioners of Islam, the TRUE terrorists. How can you blame this country for the ridiculous sake of humanity's own suffering?! Don't you know that Allah, the god of the Muslims, is the Devil Himself? Give us all a break from your OWN hypocrisy, please.

God is not to be trifled with in this way. I surely do want you to take this as seriously as it sounds like you take yourself.

As for my somewhat angry reply...I forgive you, but turn to Him and ask Him to do the same.

When a country turns its back on God and acts like a hypocrite, God will turn its back on them. Has He done this with America? I think in these last days...He has. God is pulling His protective power away from all the world as Revelation and Matthew 24 predits will happen.

As for the rest of my post...I'm merely pointing out that America is hypocritical when it comes to religion and it speaks out of both sides of it's mouth. For a religion like Islam to look at America and see this hypocrisy is foreign and unheard of to them. I'm not defending terrorism in any way, nor am I praising Islam. I'm merely pointing out the mindset of how the world may look at America and why America's 'faith' is offensive to the rest of the world who actually take their faith seriously.

Why should I turn to God for forgiveness? I haven't done anything wrong.

Perhaps you should ask God to forgive your impetuous, self-righteousness...
