Ok.
So looking through my library at several Bibles in the Bible section...(yes, I got a library with several bookshelves...not just a shelf with a few knicknacks)
And I got to thinking about the age of some of these. My first I owned was a lollipop KJV. (Age 6) Second one was a hard cover NIV (16). The cover is missing as it seen a lot of hard use.
Then I inherited a Jerusalem Bible and a parallel... picked up some interlinears.
But my favorite was one of the original NIV with study notes. The gold is off the edges. (Got it when 20) nicely leather bound. It's over 30 years old now. My name embossed on the front is losing it's metal. I paid dearly for it then. But it's been worth it.
The ones that I inherited are almost as old as me...
But then came along the family Bibles. When my ancestors came to America. They brought with them new Bibles (huge) with birth records and notes about my ancestors. (Even from the civil war...war of northern aggression according to the Bible)
I mostly use electronic Bibles these days. Kinda lazy I guess...but I still use my old faithful NIV with notes every Sunday.
How old are your Bibles?
