Ghosts or Demons?

I've been very interested in the ghost hunter type television programs that are very popular these days.
I do watch them, but not because I believe in Ghosts.

I believe that the scriptures refer to these as "familar spirits" and God gives stern warnings to stay away from anyone who claims to converse with dead, or psychics and witches.

It is troubling that many Christians today are so unaware of these warnings and openly visit psychics and even claim to have incouraged contact with ghosts.

These are not long lost family or loved ones, they are called "familliar" spirits because they appear "familliar" These are tricks of the demonic forces according to scriptures and should be avoided at all costs.
Jesus told us that we who have accepted Him are given power over demons throgh the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

I watch these programs to become learned in the methods of the enemy.
The enemy is extreemly cunning and we are no match for him. It is only throguh our faith in Jesus and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit that we may do battle with such demonic angelic beings.

I also believe the so called "aliens" that are so popular in our culture are real, and are in fact demonic beings as well.

Whew! You had me worried.
Someone busted in a week ago and came strong to the hoop in support of ghost hunting. It got a little out of hand. I thought you were going to that place.

Well, the bible says that the dead are conscious of nothing... that they're "asleep" in death... not roaming around without bodies. So, I agree, ghosts are bad spirits.

Aliens COULD also be... but like ghosts, I believe the majority are just normal things that people mistake for something abnormal. However, consider that angels are not from earth... therefore we know that "aliens exist" to some extent. Who's to say that God can not have created any life on any other planets?

However, if he did, I doubt they would be allowed to interact with us on any level.

Participating in any occult type of entertainment ("I've been very interested in the ghost hunter type television programs ") can result in demon possession because the activity attracts demons.This is one of the reasons the Harry Potter books and movies are dangerous.I learned this lesson up close and personal a few years ago when I was listening to a "ghost hunter" being interviewed on the radio in my bathroom.I looked over just in time to see a bottle being pushed to the edge of a shelf and then falling into the toilet. :help .About two minutes later the "hunter" started talking about ghosts moving objects around rooms. :crazy NO MORE! Now I listen to Christian radio. 3

I am particularily interested in your reply my friend.
I have no fear of any demonic force because the Holy Spirit is inside me, but I do see your point.
I take the view that Jesus Himself told us about demons and the entire bible is full of information and warnings about satan and demonic activity. We don't open ourselves to demonic forces by learning about them.
So in my humble opinion I feel more informed and better able to help others who may be trapped in this false belief, or even tormented by demonic activity on some level, when I study the enemies and become of his trick, propaganda and tactics.
