Numbers, it's very interesting that you chose an image of bees as an example of how the guys here have been busy.

You know that bees are mostly female? The only male bees that exist only live for procreation. Their only purpose is to fertilise their queen, and they die during or right after performing that duty. Although I kind of envy those male bees - dying in the act of mating must be an awesome way to end! - the fate of the male bees shows what the place of the male gender is: serve your queens, preferably by sacrificing yourselves.
With the lack of male population within a bee colony it's clear that all those proverbial busy little bees are indeed girls.
