LOL, blame western European artists for their non-Jewish looking depictions of Jesus and others from that Biblical time. Experts say Rembrandt, more than any, brough out the "Jewishness" of Jesus' time.

Also, blame Danrte for the images of Satan we now have. 8-)

peace4all life ain't fair. And the angel told Joseph in a dream take the wife and child into Egypt. God had this done so that they could blend in with the people.
Egyptians are not of a light or very dark complexion. They are what is called olive. But they are more dark than they are light.
