Right: We suspect the 'sons of God' were people, not fallen angels.
As far as the medium, I translated the word elohim from Hebrew as 'gods'. Scripture doesn't tell us who 'they' were. So without some really sound scriptural context we don't make a habit of believing everything. Right. But we can SPECULATE. Can we believe what Apocrypha says, Deborah? No. Because it is a false scripture.
Ok I will share my speculations:

The medium's connection with the spirit of Samuel.
The Prophet Samuel died. He was not resurrected but there was a real connection established with him. How? I think through some angelic means. Those who practice magic/witchcraft posses some satanic knowledge of the fallen angels/demons/aliens. I think application of their knowledge is
illegal, that is why God forbids us to apply it too. Those who violate this law of God are in fact criminals like those who provide such "illegal connection services" and they do not inherit the Kingdom of God.
Their "video transmitter" showed gods/spirits/spirit flying over an earth (probably another planet) and the spirit of Samuel rebuked the king Saul....

Sons of God.
God does not have sons except the Son of God and those who are BORN of God (John 3).
The fallen angels are spiritual beings who cannot be multiplied as Jesus compared souls of dead people with them in Matthew 22.
At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. Matthew 22:30
Why? What is the nature of angels?
“(GOD) Who makes His angels spirits
And His ministers a flame of fire.”

Where giants before the Flood?
Moses says about giants:

The Bible's emphasis on the size and might of the Rephaim is responsible for the Septuagint's renderings gigantes and titanes. Rephaim designates "shades" or "spirits". Of course they were not spirits but real human beings very tall..
God destroyed these giants...

Jews said about the Canaan:

Ok it means that after the flood there was a nation of giants and they were descendants of Noah.

Ok it is clear that the sons are just people in the context.
4 There were giants on the earth
in those days (before the flood), and also
afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those
were the mighty men who
were of old, men of renown.
So, Rephaites were a mix of a normal people with giants (just a tall nation of people...may be caused by some genetic changes..). No angels are involved.
