GOD will fight for you.

I'm yet to understand why God at times said (in the OT) or says: He will fight for us (HIMSElF?). Is it through HIS angels or does GOD do it directly?

Exodus 14:14
The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
There are other verses, too.


Honestly, I keep wondering why God would have to intervene for us in someour daily dealing with fellow people. Are we that weak?

If a 3-yr old kid fights another kid of his age, and I come to defend one and also fight for him, I know people would kind of frown at me. In such a situation I should send a 3-yr old kid instead.

I think we get the picture now.

(This might sound strange to us. I keep asking myself WHY).

So, when God says, HE will fight for us, what does it really mean (knowing that HE is a great and Powerful GOD, and other gods and people are like baby lice before HIM)

Context is very important and in this scripture it is God telling Moses that He will fight for His children Israel.
 
I think there are cases when God had to kind of physically do it HIMSELF. Example is when HE poured down HIS anger in the midst of HIS people, the people of Israel...killing the disobedient ones. In such an occurrence GOD didn't use HIS angels, I think.

God was with them; HE was in their midst, the people of Israel....just that they couldn't see HIM.

I was trying to cite an example though. There are other instances of GOD fighting for us.

With HIS Strong Arm ...etc

In those instances in the Bible where God fights for us, He does it to show us that He is there with us and keeps us safe. It is also done to boost our faith in Him. When we go through trials and tough spots in life where it seems that no one is around I can tell you God is. There were many times where I felt alone, but now I see that it was in those times that God was carrying me and comforting me while fighting for me. He certainly fought to keep me alive the three times I attempted suicide. The poem Footprints in the Sand is a wonderful example of God fighting for us.
 
in the 2 Kings 6: 17 -18 God send his battalion of angels to help prophet Elisha and the young man when the King of Syria tried to seize them...

“O Lord, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. And when the Syrians came down against him, Elisha prayed to the Lord and said, “Please strike this people with blindness.” So he struck them with blindness in accordance with the prayer of Elisha”<O:p</O:p

Perhaps it's simple as we being on God's side and He on ours. No matter the battle, no matter the method He chooses to use (3 year old? angels? fire? ourselves? none of the above), It is He doing the fighting for us.

And we win.

Perhaps to be called, "Victorious?, More than conquerors?!"

Once you are saved you have entered into "The Kingdom of God", and within this system you are given/imbued with the necessary spiritual weaponry to battle the forces of darkness.

"we fight not against flesh and blood...." "the weapons of our warfare are not carnal"...etc.

The problem that most Christians have is that they have no idea what is available to sustain and empower them within this spiritual system, which explains why they do not know how to apply it so that they are empowered constantly to defeat the flesh and the devil.

If that is the problem then it must be because most Christians fail to recognize, acknowledge, and/or submit to the Source.

Note that God did not say "I will put on the armor of God", instead He is asking US to put on the armor of God and fight the battle !

Not only that, but the Bible also says God's power is at work WITHIN US.
