These are awesome pictures...

I have a tree outside my sons window that has had robins in it the past two years. I hope they come back this spring again too, because watching the nest and seeing the progress of egg to bird is amazing.

I have video and still photo of these and nature never ceases to amaze me.

WOW, those are some cool pics!! I love hummingbirds as we get many of them in our garden, both front and back yards. I grow Fuschias and many flowering plants because I know they favor them for their nectar.

A few years ago, we had one nest that was made in our Madagascar tree next to our livingroom window. We felt so blessed to be so close to one of His many wonderful creations. If you look closely at the craftsmanship of their nests, it's just amazing to ponder upon that God would create a tiny little bird with the intuition of an architect. I could go on and on....

Any ways, thanks for sharing these awesome pics, I only wished my camera was as fancy as yours at the time. I did get some pics too but they pale in comparison to yours.

:D

Those pics are heartwarming, and very well-taken. Thanks for sharing, Jg...

One time in an amusement park when I was living in Canada there was a nest with two small baby birds inside, and the mother came and was sitting with them. The nest was nestled on a metal bar beneath the 'roof' that was built as a shade over the area where we were standing in line for a ride. My friend took lots of pictures, but I don't know if she managed to get any close-ups...

It is amazing. The nest that is outside my sons window every year is so close we could literally reach out and touch it (Not that we would of course) so we have a rare opportunity to examine both the birds and the nest through the window.

The nest lasts through harsh winds and rain as if it is constructed of steel and concrete. It is amazing that they can build a nest so strong out of twigs grass and thread. And they build it with nothing but there beaks and feet!

Yeah, I just get such a kick out of God's beauty in all of His creations.

Another amazing thing about these nests is the size and dimension. Notice how it's not too large or too small, just perfect for the amount of eggs and their momma.

not to be the gross one, but is anyone else amazed at the amount of poop on the outside edge of the nest? :P

Have you seen the mother feed the babies yet?

It would be cool to see a picture of the mother humming around the nest, feeding the little ones.

Thanks for the pics - it is really amazing to see those tiny creatures.

Thank you.
I have not been able to catch the mom feed them. As soon as there is any sort of noise or movement, she takes off and hovers about me about 10-20 feet away and makes these screaching noises at me....I will keep trying to catch them. I figure I have another week before they fly away..

Can you set up a time-lapse camera?

I thought about setting up a camera on a tripod and fire it off wireless when the mom is there...Perhaps I will try that tomarrow.

Very interesting jgredline. Not many get a chance to watch a humming bird's nest and family outside their window.
Pretty cool to say the least.

I love how the one baby rests it's head pointed upward on the side of the nest. What a cute little teeny tiny beak. Baby is ready at all times for the food mom brings.

Excellent pics jg. :) thanks for sharing.
