Why is gold valuable?.

You cant eat it, you cant drink it, you cant smoke it. Its just a dead stone.

I guess it could make a solid wall, and is conductor of electricity, but if was stranded on a island im sure anyone would take a hamburger over a kilogram of gold.

Whats the difference between a red, brown, blue, white, black, gold, yellow rock that does nothing?

I guess its same with diamond. They do nothing as well, probably the most useless material in the world. There is not enough of it to do anything great either.

Actually, you can eat it. Food-grade gold leaf is sometimes used as garnish in fine-dining presentations.

It's shiny, rare and doesn't decompose. Good for a means to trade wealth, as well as have fashion as it's often used in jewelry. Diamond on the other hand has another practical use besides our use of it being rare. Because of it's toughness it's not brittle and can hold a sharp edge. Diamond edge knives are probabley very good for medical uses. Thus making even "fake" artificial diamonds worth while.

I've wondered that myself, lol. I do hear it's a good building material though. At least for paving streets with. Well, plus it has good electrical conductivity. It may even have other good properties that we don't know about. Do you think they'd let pions like us know the truth about it?

I once decided to search for ambergris many years ago along the west coast beach, i was so sure I struck the jackpot, it looked like it, smell like it, right texture, in a good known area. I took it home and studied it, kept it in a safe place, then went to cash in my findings but it was just a lump of lard that come off a ship.

I got done like fools gold. Lol.

Gold doesnt corrode it's a conductor.

It's also used for tooth crowning since doesn't react with much of anything

Didnt scientists find that planet that is made of dimonds. That means dimonds must be classed as worthless now because we now know there is more dimond out there than the earth itself.

Gold is in abundance and isn't rare earth.the ocean naturally has gold but it's hard to extract that from the ocean.
