i called my dad's cell today, just sayin' hey and seeing what was up. he invited me out to lunch w/ him and mama. and...wow. wow. ive become such a recluse, cuz im a pariah and all, and...

i roll up to meet them, well dressed, well groomed, and...it went splendidly. nothing lavish or over the top, but...a good, wholesome lunch with the people who brought me into this world and now see the huge changes since I've been Born Again (which, btw, I think was more Jesus' doing than mine...maybe it always is, for anyone? I honestly dunno...).

I texted both of them after lunch. i even used an emoji to show my thanks (LOL). seriously...they're wonderful people, and I thank God for them. :-)

and...im finsihed.

Nice! A good relationship with the parents is healthy and a sign of maturity. Since I went through unemployment and during this terrible job situation I have now, I've learned a lot (more) from my parents as we talk about their lives and experiences.

when i was...out in the world, then destroyed by my own sins, the world, satan, etc...i had such anger towards my parents. and...honestly, mental health, inc. just made it worse! true story. but now...

no longer! thanks to Christ..."it is no longer I who lives, but it is Christ who lives in me...," etc.

your situation is different, of course, but i sense overlap. Thanks for the thoughtful reply. :-)

oh, and...the schizophrenia or 'psychotic depressive phase of severe bipolar i...' whatever...

whoa. thank goodness for the modern tranquilizers. i can now hear voices, not overreact, more or less carry on... and im on a moderate, fairly easy to tolerate dosage. so...

The Lord's blessings are also teaching me to be thankful for things that I thought i hated, not so long ago...like effective psych drugs. oh, and...

My wonderful, loving, kind parents. I was so stuck in my own psychosis and stuff, it never dawned on me...they're out lotsa $$$! I was a total wretched mess up! this has been hell for them, too! and now...

i get it, and im not able to undo the past, but im a much better person and son, now, thanks to Christ. :-)
