Jesus has a slightly different take on it:
Luke 18:14 I say to you, this man went down into his house justified rather than the other: because every one that exalteth himself, shall be humbled: and he that humbleth himself, shall be exalted.

These old style theatres which showed these kinds of movies also were often used as casual sex meeting places in CA...

That is not what happened. The incident was in FL, not CA, and he was not on stage or engaged in homosexual sex acts. He was arrested as he left the theatre for allegedly touching himself inappropriately while sitting in the dark theatre watching an adult movie. Not one of his better moments to be sure, but a far cry from molesting children or engaging in sex acts on stage.

Yes, I'm sure that many of us feel smug and superior to people who have publicly stumbled, but I keep remembering that pride goes before a fall. I will concentrate on my own sins and let God deal with a man's moment of weakness from 25 years ago.

I'm not being holier then him.do you have kids? If I took jaci or rosemary to his show for autograph.my wife and the mothers of those girls would be indicted for murder.I must agree to disagree.safety first. The state law on sex convictions and children bring near then in a school,church ran nursery,does not make that distinction. If was convicted of that crime and was out.I couldn't work where I work.I enter schools to read meters and carry a school id.I had to be fingerprinted and background checked for that.

I still refuse to allow a sexual deviant to become an icon of fun to children...which is what you are advocating for.

And let's not forget the child pornography charge he pled guilty to in March of 2004.(plea deal got it down to obscenity)
