Now that they claim that men today gossip more than women, especially in the political world and in churches, and offices: women claiming so - with some men agreeing with that. But Classik stands to say, the real woman can't be beaten in this life when it comes to doing what women do best and naturally (even in the bible times).

not saying that you guys don't at times do the strange thing

Now before you pull the trigger, let me board the next vehi. and run for my life.

It's been my experience that men gossip more than women. And some of their gossip was truly outrageous.

Have you got a scripture to back up your ravings? :hips
Actually there is Scripture to confirm that women were tattlers and busybodies. Please note 1 Tim 5:11-15:
11 But the younger widows refuse: for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry;
12 Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith.
13 And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.
14 I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.
15 For some are already turned aside after Satan.

Of course, we will have the Christian feminists up in arms asking that the men be given "equal opportunity".

Are the women in those verses gossiping because it's in their nature as women, or are they doing so because others did it and we tend to emulate others around us in order to fit in?

Personally I prefer to talk more about fiction and my favorite characters more than what old mister so-and-so did. No one is guiltless of gossip, imo. It's easy to engage in it without even realizing it, even if you don't start it. Just a general rule to follow is to not talk about others in a bad way, especially if it's about things that may not even be true.

I think men and women lie, gossip, all that. I think w/more women employed and more men encouraged to take on family roles, things have evened out. My theory.

lol. I knew one of you guys would post that scripture. She had too much time on her hands, that is how that happens.
My husband comes home from work with the "news" from town. I always ask, 'who told you that?' Then I know just how seriously I should take or not at all.

Double like on this post! :thumbsup

Times change, people change and even 40 or whatever yrs ago, I might not have believed it but today I have absolutely no problem believing men are worse or at the very least equal on the gossip scale.

The worse gossip I know by far, is a man.

:whirl:prayThe wind of protection and prayer have so far saved me from a fusillade of bullets....

Only heaven knows if I will ever survive granny's bazooka .:hysterical

With my tubular bells friend, I think I'm shielded off the shrapnel. Jethrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrro

I have two kid brothers, raised three sons, not to mention sons in law, and have a lot of guy friends.
You can't kid me. I know how men gossip.
Of course, I also have two sisters, and four daughters, as well as daughters in law...and I am a woman.
So I know how women gossip, too.
I don't think it's a gender thing...I think it is a human thing.
And may God have mercy on us all...
