[__ Prayer __] Grateful

I still struggle with dips into particularly bad depression ("psychotic depression," in shrink-speak). I find that the more I praise The Lord for each new day and everything else He has poured out upon me, the better I am able to handle...life. Even (perhaps especially) the less than fabulous parts of life.

Sadness, sometimes even what my older, wiser, Pentecostal friend calls "oppression," are a part of life. I sometimes think that Christians get more than our fair share of darkness and oppression, but that could just be my perception.

Anyway...yup yup. Today is the day that The Lord hath made; rejoice and be glad in it. I find that the more seriously I take that as a command from on high, not an option, the better able I am to get through the days without being mired down as much in Self and sadness.

Good post. :-)

Even right now I am going through a lot. My plate is pretty full. However, the Lord has taught me to Praise Him in the Storm. He will see me through it. I always thank Him in advance and always have an expectancy. HE hasn't failed me yet, nor will HE ever. Our God Reigns! God never gives us more than we can handle.
