Okay, so another hair thread, this time from a different angle.

How short have you gone, folks? & how long?

Blessings.

Me too, Reba. But it's all grown back almost to my waist.

God Bless

Deborah: by chemo cut, is this because of medication, or did you mean you chose to liberate your skull, so to speak?

Blessings.

BTW, mine keeps getting a bit bushy and straggly, but my wife keeps copping or shortening hers, and so I try to avoid mine being longer than hers.

From chemotherapy 12 yrs. ago. Although I didn't wait for the drugs to liberate my skull, lol. I knew I'd loose it and it was very long, so I asked my niece to shave my head, better that way, over an done with. Now it's 2" from my waist and I've had it cut a few times to just below shoulder length. I wore a wig to work at the office and no one knew.

Deborah: Sorry you had to have chemo. Glad it worked out for you, though. Was your niece a hairdresser, maybe? I think hairdressers are increasingly called on to do headshaves.

Blessings.

Chemo 2008-9 Good for you 12 years! yeah sister!

reba: Oh so yours was more recent, then. Sorry to learn this. Hope you'll be in remission. I guess sometimes those who had really long hair don't bother to go really long again, though.

Blessings.

I posted about the chemo because I laugh about the headache cancer was.... I look bad with out hair.....

You too, Reba. God is good to us.

I don't look good either, not many do I think. Although my son started shaving his head because he was going bald and he does look good??

Well, I guess in families where the men get shaved completely, the ladies can go real short and it still won't be very conspicuous by way of comparison, I guess. :chin

Blessings.

No she wasn't but we did a lot of showing horses so she knew had a lot of experience using clippers to shave bridle paths and fetlocks. We used the horse clippers, LOL.

I felt sorry for her though, she cried the whole time.

All the way down my back is the longest it's ever been, I think.

A couple of times when I was a kid we had it cut to halfway down my head--due to a lice problem.

Right now it's shoulder-length, and I'd like to keep it there. :)

Well, I guess for a woman if it's allowed to get real long, the weight of it can sometimes damage the scalp, depending on the person.

If it's much shorter, then often the earlobes look bare and the woman is sometimes constrained to make decisions about earring wearing and ear piercing, so that they ears don't look so bare. Again, depending on the person, of course.

Us men; well, we go bald (and I haven't worn earrings in a long while.)

Blessings.

there was a birthday party for my husband the day after my hair started falling out.... I knew there would be photos so I sprayed my head .. Helmet head of hair spray I don't use hair spay often, that evening after the party I was lifting chunks of hair... half crying half laughing.... I wasn't to upset I knew it would grow back and I am not a young girl...

Deborah:

Really? if it was about your health, I can understand, but crying about cutting hair?

(But maybe I'm insensitive to these mysteries...)

Blessings.

reba:

Glad you came through the chemo experience, anyway.

I guess you can now make such decisions in relation to hair on its own merits, exclusively...

(A good situation for people to be in.)

Blessings.

My dad used to joke that his hair migrated down from his head to his face and never went back up north. xD (He was bald, but had a beard.)
