Hair: how short have you gone? how long?

Hair? Mine's a little lower than the middle of my back right now.

She kinda disapproves of boys wearing earrings. But she didn't say anything negative to my brother about it. He didn't live with us anymore.

I don't quite remember what it looked like, but I'd think it'd look good on him, anyway.

questdriven:

Well, I'm sure it would.

I gtg, Blessings.

I've had hair all the way to my waist and I've had hair deliberately cut to be about 1" to 2" long. Right now its about shoulder blade length. The very short cut I did for basic training and when I got sent to the desert as I have very thick very out of control irish hair.

I used to shave my head totally bald and I've had my hair down to just about my shoulders before. Now I keep it to a crew cut. I'd like to have a high and tight, but I can't get the "High" part to work. :)

When I was in high school, up till I was 17 I had it just below shoulder-length. Now I keep it at about number 3.

faeriecat:

Sounds like you're out of the military now, else they would keep wanting it to be chopped down, I guess.

Blessings.

No, I do not have any piercings at all. Or Tats. One of my sons has both of his ears pierced and they both have tats. I don't see anyone having negative reactions to them though so its cool.

I don't have anything against piercings or tats as long as they're tasteful. I like for my sons tats to be covered when we are dressed for work. Some older ladies have reacted poorly to visible tats in the past. My sons level of professionalism supersedes any potential negativeness of his earrings I feel. He walks and talks a true professional.

Edward:

Sounds good and it's great you sound cool about his tatts and ear piercings.

(I wonder how those older women would react in the events that, as well as your sons having tatts it turned out that their mom had tatts, too?)

Anyway, head shaving has gotten really popular.

Blessings.

I used to have a guy working for me that had a full beard and that got more negative reactions than anything. One lady denied him entry and turned him away. Probably thought he was a biker or whatnot. Sad too because some of the best people I have known were bikers.

E: In Bible times, it seems that a lot of men had bushy beards! :)

(And it's not just women who are bikers that have tatts; grandmothers and pastors' daughters going for the widespread rite of passage at 18, also have them.)

The male head shaving seems to be a very popular thing now.

Blessings.

Mine is short, maybe 1/2 inch at the neck, and has been most of my life. When I was young I had too much hair, thick and coarse, &
had to have it thinned every 2 weeks. Once I had it long, shoulder length, and went to get it cut. The stylest had just seen someone
on TV and gave me that cut instead of the DA I had requested. I ended up looking exactly like Buster Brown, and I went home crying.
We made another appointment and I got my DA. Now I have it short because it is fine and thin, and this is the only thing it will do.
OH well. At least now that it is gray I got a tiny bit of wave and a little body in it. And I can wear purple.

Hi Carolyn:

I think the cropped, inverted bob at the neck is getting to be popular; you mentioned 1/2 inch.

Blessings.

The high & tight cut is good for me but my hair grows so fast that it's hard to keep up with it. I'm 50 now and no signs of thinning, Praise the Lord! :)

E: Wow, you've done better than me, then... :)

By the way, farouk, stop talking about us older women like I weren't here and reading this. :wave I have one grand daughter who has beautiful tats
but I still dont like them, and piercings all over. I hated the post in her tongue but she isn't using that anymore. And I still love her
dearly even though her drug use and multiple sexual partners grieve and frighten me because of heath issues. We pray for her salvation
every night. My husband is both my life parter and my prayer partner. I am truly blessed.

off topic: if you husbands don't join hands with your wives and pray with them EVERY DAY, shame on you! Nothing will bond you closer
together than agreeing in prayer! "A family that prays together, stays together".

Sorry, Carolyn: I had to look back and see what I said but it was in reference to the 'older ladies' that Edward referred to.

And I wholeheartedly agree about husbands and wives praying together. We do this, too! :)

Hope your prayers for your granddaughter are answered, too.

Didn't quite understand what you meant, though, when you said her tatts are 'beautiful' but that you 'don't like them'.

Blessings.

PS:
One of my sons has both of his ears pierced .

E: Well, it's not at all unusual. These days, when males do the ear piercing thing, they often do both, rather than one. I guess that with the head shaved thing these days, ears would look increasingly bare, otherwise.

Blessings.

Totally bald and I've had hair that was touching my shoulders! I've also had "devil locks" down to my chin.

S: Like, bald by choice? or by 'force of circumstances'...? :)

I have temporarily changed my avatar to show my 1960's 'hair' cred.

Aardverk, that picture looks awesome!
The 60s were a time I wish I had lived in. Amazing music. Great styling.

My parents used to cut my hair short when I was little. It was fitting, because I was a little ruffian girl anyway. But what bugged me (and still bugs me today... it's something I will have to forgive my parents for) is that they didn't cut my hair short because it fit my ruffian personality, or because it looked good or so. They cut it short because they thought it more convenient and easier for them (less trouble washing and styling, and so on). So their convenience was more important than my needs or my gender identity or my appearance. I pleaded with them to allow my hair to grow long, but they wouldn't. Sometimes strangers thought I'm a boy. :( I got kicked out of the girls' restroom in my elementary school and sent to the boys' restroom instead several times.

I guess that's why I've been wearing my hair as long as it would grow (like shoulder blade length) ever since I can decide it for myself, except for a short time I had a shorter than shoulder cut.
