Hair: how short have you gone? how long?

My dad used to joke that his hair migrated down from his head to his face and never went back up north. xD (He was bald, but had a beard.)

:)

When I started to grow a beard (aka not shaving) my wife wasn't impressed. (After a certain age, though, some men can grow more on their chins than on the top of their heads.)

PS: I see your header quote from Red; I commented earlier on the Heavy Metal thread on the Red song you recommended.

Blessings.

Deborah:

Really? if it was about your health, I can understand, but crying about cutting hair?

(But maybe I'm insensitive to these mysteries...)

Blessings.

I think it was because she was shaving off all my hair not just cutting it and the reason why a woman would do that.

Although would I was a little girl and had very long hair my step-father decided that I needed to get it cut in a pixie cut before going to camp. He didn't ask my mom. She cried and cried when she saw it. It takes a long time to grow really long pretty hair.

Oh okay; I see; ty. :)

I used to wear my hair down by my shoulders because I look better in long hair than short. After I went in business I went to a professional cut. Besides, I'm not on the market anymore anyway. ;)

E: you mean, you might not thrive in an interview now, with you hair as it is...? :)

I grew up on a farm in north Missouri with a WWII infantry veteran dad. Do you think I dared grow my hair beyond a crew cut back then? In college, I let my hair grow out in a (blech) mullet (ewwwwww) for one baseball season, but at the end of the freshman year, student deferments were a thing of the past, my number was 44 and I enlisted, spending the next 20 years in the Army. I've never had a hair on my head longer than two inches since.

I shaved it all before because mines receding though much slower than I originally thought. I have a round head too and it's still hard to pull off. You gotta get a tan and have some kind of look to go with it or you start giving people the wrong idea. Some jewelry or a cool shirt or something so people get it is a style not a statement. Yikes that's not good. I overheard one black girl and guy talking about me the girl saying it looked bad and the guy saying I had a round head so it made sense :lol. Plus my Mom hated it.

G: You mention jewelry with it; do you ever wear earrings, maybe?

Blessings.

I meant to get the girls not trying to upset you Farouk :)

Yes. Only for girls. The stupidity of youth ;)

G: Well, I haven't worn any either for a while, but actually for man earrings can sometimes even give a rugged tough guy look, I guess.

Oh, no. That was a reference to girls. :lol I've always been told by the ladies that I look very handsome and better with long hair. Professionally speaking, if two guys show up to give a bid, both competent, both similar bids, but one guy looks like a hippie and the other is clean cut, guess who gets the job? :yes

...the guy without the earrings, too? depends on the job, I guess.

Nah, I think earrings are pretty mainstream and accepted now, don't think they make a difference. I don't have any but almost everyone does anymore.

I'm off to bed now, much work tomorrow. Praise the Lord!
Good night all. :)

E: You pierced both of yours, did you?

Blessings & have a great night!

Earrings are mainstream...hmm, tempted to make a hipster joke here. xD

Well, if you do go to art college, I reckon quite a few of the male students will have them, let along the female ones.

Blessings.

True.
My older brother even had one at some point. I know some guys at my Bible study who do.

Well, yes, I'm sure some of them do. It's quite natural, I reckon, that some of them do.

And re. when your brother pierced his, I reckon it was simply a benign development as happens in a lot of families, whether Christian or not.

Blessings.

I remember my mom commented on it.

That was a long time ago. I wonder if he still has it.

She kinda disapproves of boys wearing earrings. But she didn't say anything negative to my brother about it. He didn't live with us anymore.

I don't quite remember what it looked like, but I'd think it'd look good on him, anyway.
