Haiti and prophecy in similitude.

And there is also louisiana and Florida where Haitians practice Voodoo. Some residents have long said it wasn't a natural disaster that caused the flooding after Hurricane Katrina. Some say the increase of disasters is because of the increase of evil in the world. Thoughts.

Amen C. This is where a Christian's heart should be. We should not be pointing fingers at a repressed society and saying to them this is God's wrath on you. :gah

Why don't you give glory to God?
I DO give glory to God. I praise HIM as HE motivates people, missionaries, nations, etc. to aid in the relief of those who have suffered and lost much.

Ronnie, it's not personal, but this attitude and these sort of topics really get to me. As I posted earlier, God is no respecter of persons and allows it to rain on both the just and the unjust.

What about the children, toddlers, infants, newborn and even the disabled ones? How is this judgment on them? What about the many visiting from other nations, whether they be students, missionaries, etc. that aren't part of their society but were taken down in this catastrophe? :shrug

We as Christians should not relish in the idea that each and every disaster is God's wrath. As a Christian, this saddens me as much as the disaster itself. Please pass that on to Pat Robertson too. :verysad

When God levels La's Vegas, then maybe we have something to talk about. :yes

Psalms:137:7: Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof.
Psalms:137:8: O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.
Psalms:137:9: Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

How do you reconcile these scriptures? I don't. And I don't claim to know why God does everything that He does, nor do I claim to know the mind of God. But I know this. I am glad that He is God and I am happy that He moves. I know something else too. I know that God created ALL THINGS for His pleasure. How to I deal with that? I deal with it just fine and I give all of the glory to God. I am glad He has pleased Himself with creation and I am more than pleased to be on the right side of my Lord and creator Jesus Christ.

Re:4:11: Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Jer:13:16: Give glory to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.

Proverb:16:4: The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

Do like I do. Deal with it and be happy about it. It's a good thing.

Some say right.

Florida was prone to hurricane even when the spanish had it. The spanish fleets were sunk by those hurricanes in 1715, ever heard of the treasure coast and the Mel fisher museum? I live on the treasure coast and mel fisher's museum is in my home county.

I guess when the explorer Columbus was stranded in Puerto Rico that was judgement as well, some claim that he was interested in spreading the gospel.

Does it really matter about the cause of the storm, but rather lets help the living and those who have oppurtunity today to repent. Let God judge and us reach out and tell the others that have survived such things that there is hope in him who died for them.

Uh i guess my fellow christians had sin in their lives as they were in the path of Jeanne and Francis. You
know what they praised the lord for the provision of food and water that have the means to buy and the ones given to them by the National Guard. They also were greatful that noone died in the storms in the county i lived in and prayed for those family members of the ones did die in the storms in the southern counties. They also thanked the Lord for the storms could have been stronger.

I never said we should not have compassion for our fellow man. I guess the point I'am trying to make, is that all of the bible prediction are not just a matter of science. Our scientist say all of these things are a matter of science and not an act of God; and exactly the same time frame the bible predicts is nothing more than science, because all of these things are meant to happen over the next one hundred years. Like how do they measure that as a scientific fact? The truth is that they do not know what they are talking about. The world population and those events could easily be hundreds or thousands of years apart.

Big bro-hug for Jason! :D

MDO, my observations aren't based on science, they are based on my understanding of the natural systems God has put in place AND my understanding of eschatology. I view much prophecy as history pre-written. You and others see it all as being in our future.

Act of God? Everything is an act of God. :yes

Eph 3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

I think the KJ is the only one that has that sentence structure. All of the other bibles read like this one: Ephesians 3:9 (New International Version)
9and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things.

Actually I view scripture as past, present, and future, with history and parables; literal and parabolic. I also know that somethings will repeat.
