That's right, at sundown tonight the Passover officially began.

Today is when He ate the last supper
: Matthew 26:20-30; Mark 14:17-26; Luke 22:14-30

He was betrayed and arrested: Matthew 26:47-56; Mark 14:43-52; Luke 22:47-53; John 18:2-12

Tried by Annas and Caiaphas: Matthew 26:57-75; Mark 14:53-72; Luke 22:54-65: John 18:13-27

The next day, which would be this Thursday Jesus was:

Tried by Sanhedrin: Matthew 27:1; Mark 15:1; Luke 22:66

Tried by Pilate, Herod: Matthew 27:2-30; Mark 15:2-19; Luke 23:1-25; John 18:28-19:16

Crucified and Buried:
Matthew 27:31-60; Mark 15:20-46; Luke 23:26-54; John 19:16-42

This coming Friday would be the day He spent in the tomb.

And this Saturday, the Seventh-day Sabbath will mark the day He arose from the tomb: Matthew 28:1-15; Mark 16:1-8; Luke 24:1-35

Im glad you said happy Passover and not Easter. By the way; preperation day is always on a Friday. Yahshua broke bread on Thursday the 12th with his disciples. The Holy days back then always came on the same days of the week. Passover always began at sundown Friday evening. Anyway, happy passover. :wave

The 14th day of Nisan is always the 14th day of Nisan whether it's a Monday, Wednesday, or Saturday. And while it is true the preparation day of John's gospel is on Friday that is not always the case with when the Passover takes place. Preparation day and the Passover are two different things.

Exodus 12:6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.

The Holy Hebrew calender was a 364 days solar calender. The extra days were added in about every four years. The Civil Hebrew Calender is the lunar calender. Originally the Holy days were always the same days. In other words, Preparation day was always Friday the thirteenth.

The Hebrew calendar was 360 days and was lunar, not solar.

In the form of a 13th month, Adar II.

The Civil Hebrew Calender is the lunar calender.

After Babylon, Talmudic: http://www.shechem.org/luach/KaluachJS.htm
30AD = http://www.kaluach.net/month.php?year=30&month=4&day=9

Always the 13th? Not even close. Friday is always the 6th day what date falls on that day could be any date, not always the same day. For example, preparation day in 2009 is the 10th this year, not the 13th. Yet, in the year Christ was crucified it would have been the 15th. If you go to April 2010 with the calendar link I provided it clearly shows how the Passover started on a Thursday much as it did in Christ's day. The next time this scenario of Thursday Passover begins again is not until 2021.

The 14th day of Nisan is always the 14th day of Nisan. Always.

You know, I think you like to argue just for the sake of argument. Odd. :wave

He was hung on the cross today.......

John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all [men] unto me.

"Of the multitude that followed the Saviour to Calvary, many had attended Him with joyful hosannas and the waving of palm branches as He rode triumphantly into Jerusalem. But not a few who had then shouted His praise, because it was popular to do so, now swelled the cry of "Crucify Him, crucify Him." When Christ rode into Jerusalem, the hopes of the disciples had been raised to the highest pitch. They had pressed close about their Master, feeling that it was a high honor to be connected with Him. Now in His humiliation they followed Him at a distance. They were filled with grief, and bowed down with disappointed hopes. How were the words of Jesus verified: "All ye shall be offended because of Me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad." Matt. 26:31.

Arriving at the place of execution, the prisoners were bound to the instruments of torture. The two thieves wrestled in the hands of those who placed them on the cross; but Jesus made no resistance. The mother of Jesus, supported by John the beloved disciple, had followed the steps of her Son to Calvary. She had seen Him fainting under the burden of the cross, and had longed to place a supporting hand beneath His wounded head, and to bathe that brow which had once been pillowed upon her bosom. But she was not permitted this mournful privilege. With the disciples she still cherished the hope that Jesus would manifest His power, and deliver Himself from His enemies. Again her heart would sink as she recalled the words in which He had foretold the very scenes that were then taking place. As the thieves were bound to the cross, she looked on with agonizing suspense. Would He who had given life to the dead suffer Himself to be crucified? Would the Son of God suffer Himself to be thus cruelly slain? Must she give up her faith that Jesus was the Messiah? Must she witness His shame and sorrow, without even the privilege of ministering to Him in His distress? She saw His hands stretched upon the cross; the hammer and the nails were brought, and as the spikes were driven through the tender flesh, the heart-stricken disciples bore away from the cruel scene the fainting form of the mother of Jesus.

The Saviour made no murmur of complaint. His face remained calm and serene, but great drops of sweat stood upon His brow. There was no pitying hand to wipe the death dew from His face, nor words of sympathy and unchanging fidelity to stay His human heart. While the soldiers were doing their fearful work, Jesus prayed for His enemies, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do." His mind passed from His own suffering to the sin of His persecutors, and the terrible retribution that would be theirs. No curses were called down upon the soldiers who were handling Him so roughly. No vengeance was invoked upon the priests and rulers, who were gloating over the accomplishment of their purpose. Christ pitied them in their ignorance and guilt. He breathed only a plea for their forgiveness,--"for they know not what they do.""

IMHO Jesus would have been crucified on a friday before sundown.

Since Jesus redeems the flesh al the way back to Adam, Adam was created in the sixth day.

Jesus was cruicified on the 6th day of the week.
He rested from all His works on the 7th day, the Sabbath day.

Jesus shared the cup of the covenant, He is the Lamb of God and our bridegroom.

As such Passover can be seen as a wedding anniversary, the first marriage supper of the Lamb.
And rose to celebrate the wedding feast with the resurrected saints along with Him...
Since a biblical wedding last 7 days as does Unleavened bread.

A memorable week indeed.

My son in law is a principle/teacher at a church school. The other day he was needing something that brought together the message of the cross with the children's weekly virtue and Bible study topic, which that week happened to be patience. He was sharing this with me just today, and the following is what God showed him.

He asked the children what would they do if they witnessed bullying at school. Well the boys of course got all tough and promised to intervene, while the girls would do likewise.
When asked what they would do if there was an actual fight, the boys got tougher and promised to get involved and give the offender a hiding, The girls weren't quite so forward, but would certainly inform the teacher.
What would they do if there was a possibility of someone getting hurt, or maybe even killed? Well, of course, everyone would absolutely get involved, would intervene physically, both boys and girls, and do whatever they could to stop it.
My SIL then asked, "then why did God not intervene when Jesus was crying and struggling in Gethsemane? Why did He not intervene when His only Son was being beaten, abused, whipped, insulted, and murdered? "
There was deathly silence for a long time as the children pondered this question. What was the Father doing when His Son was being so shamelessly treated? Weeping Himself? Probably. Head in His hands and grief-stricken and sorrowing over what He was witnessing? Very likely. I can also imagine Gabriel pacing backwards and forwards up and down the streets of New Jerusalem just itching to fly and deal to whoever was daring to touch his beloved Master. And the rest of the angels no doubt would have been but a split second behind. Just waiting for a word from the Boss. Just a nod would have sent them all to the earth and history would have been rewritten in an instant. But no. No word or command from the Father, or even the Son......
..... Now that is patience.
Patience born of love.

Job 7:17 What is man, that thou shouldest magnify him? and that thou shouldest set thine heart upon him?

Job 15:14 What is man, that he should be clean? and he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?

Ps 8:4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

1Jo 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:
