Hah, Hal was right ,the rapture was in 1981,you just missed it thats all.:nono2

Hal Lindsey is just another date-setting false teacher in the mold of Jack van Impe and Harold Camping.

Sorry...These guys have zero credibility with me. :nono2

Care to show me where he set any dates?

Jesus said that this would indicate that He was 'at the door,' ready to return. Then He said, 'Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place' (Matthew 24:34 NASB). What generation? Obviously, in context, the generation that would see the signs-chief among them the rebirth of Israel. A generation in the Bible is something like forty years. If this is a correct deduction, then within forty years or so of 1948, all these things could take place. Many scholars who have studied Bible prophecy all their lives believe that this is so.

The Late Great Planet Earth (London, Lakeland, 1970); p. 54.

'The decade of the 1980's could very well be the last decade as we know It.'

The 1980's: Countdown to Armageddon (New York, Bantam, 1982), back page.

'We are the generation that will see the end times ...and the return of Jesus.'

The 1980's: Countdown to Armageddon (New York, Bantam, 1982), back cover.

When he was shown to be wrong even with these vague predictions, he wrote the following:
Many biblical scholars have pointed out the fact that a generation in the Bible is generally regarded as 40 years. Some people point out that 40 years has already passed since the rebirth of Israel and Jesus has not returned. Well folks, we simply don't know for certain how long a biblical generation is. In addition, we're not certain when that final countdown began. Did it begin in 1948 when Israel was reborn? Or could it have begun in 1967 when Jerusalem, the apple of God's eye, was recaptured and reunified under Jewish control? We simply don't know and that is the way God wants it.

Planet Earth-2000 A.D. (Palos Verdes, California, Western Front, 1994) p. 144

Of course, the major problem with that last highlighted statement is that God did want Christ's disciples to know when the end would come, and gave them plenty of signs and warnings to let them know when the time was near!

Don't we all do that, try to figure out the second coming.. I believe we are the generation that will see the Son of Man return.. Whats so wrong with that. Keep watch for you do not know when the Son of Man will return. I believe that is what Hal is doing.. so what?

I was born that year, this generation will see His coming, I was in lockup reading The Late Great Planet Earth years ago.. open your eyes, you guys "Japan" those nuclear rods are melting as we speak. "Oil in the gulf" "Haiti" Cholera outbreak, more are dying as it spreads...

Reba pointed this out in another topic; she mentioned that just about every generation had something going on that would have caused them to believe it was the end. She mentioned just reading headlines from old newspapers.

Now, I can only imagine what the people in the time of the plague thought. How about the Pompeii? Krakatoa? WW 1? The Crusades or the Inquisition? The absolutely horrible, horrible living conditions in the inner cities of the US in the late 19th/early 20th. century? San Francisco earthquake or the great fire of Chicago? The Holocaust???

Do we have any sympathy for those believers who lived or dies in those times? Why is the current time any different? Are we living in fear or are we living for Christ?

Hi, your [post] sound's like what perhaps Noah & the Grieving Holy Spirt heard & went through in Gen. 6:3, and that was most likely every day for the 120 years to boot, huh?;)

That stupid old man building a boat when it has never even 'sprinkled' before?? (and Reba, that word sprinkled, mean a little rain, ok?)

+ the old guy is 'nuts', huh? And a whole world flood???:screwloose:screwloose Our wise/men say that it just ain't so! And how is he going to get that huge door closed?:toofunny And he thinks that the big thing will float?;)

Well kid'o's, lets see what you all say when this stuff starts in your life? For both the good & the bad will be found involved! Matt. 24:21 on + Isa, 5:5 finds that there was just nothing more that God could do than what He had & has done for us'ins to have brought forth 'good' grapes instead of 'wild grapes'! ibid 4. And the Rev. 17:1-5 ones are prophesied what?

The Lord has just two ways to reach the unsaved seen in Jude 1:22 & 23, and the COMPASION just seems not to work for most. And look at how USA has been Blessed of God, and how she is now prophesied in Rev. 17:1-5.

:bigfrown hal lindsey. yick. i dont overly concern myself with these natural events. we had them in the past and also wasnt things they way vic said in rome? medivial days and americas past?

wasnt there a great falling away when the rcc killed jews and prevented the bible from being read. when luther killed the jews? and also christians killing each other?

yet we are still here.

Hi, there are some here that I have cared for, for a good span of years. And surely their posting thought's which I do not agree with does not mean that it is anything personal.

And the thread? 'Has Judgement Begun' is one of them. Rev. 22:11-14 has the Lord's REWARD BROUGHT with Him. (meaning that the judgement between the saved & lost is past when Christ returns)

And these tribulations are not this Judgement. But how 'close' is Matt. 24:21 to being a done deal? With the 'tribulation' judements that all earth is at present into? Tom Brocaw stated a few years back that the aids virus was of Bibical proportions. And we hear very little about that modern day plague today. Is it all past & over with now?

But, here is my point. One has to make up their own mind as I see it. So, lets wait for the New Year of 2012 & it's 'worldwide' happenings' of 2011 written out visable for us to see how we match up with Matt. 24.;) (+ you'ins saying that it has always been this bad) And just between the earth & me, 'i' do not believe that we have seen anything yet!

And the slaughter of Christian's? That is all to take place at 666, if again permited to be actually carried out! Rev. 13:15

Lets look at the generation Daniel saw.. verse 4.

Daniel 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

Hi again: It is this below that is in no way the conclusion to be had from what is Christ's Matt. 24 Prophecy! It is just more nonesense! 'The Late Great Planet Earth (London, Lakeland, 1970); p. 54.'

And your remark about falling AWAY? It has to do with the Virgin Doctrinal 'Fold' of Rev. 3:16 (see Rev. 2:5) as a REPEATED History of old Israel. (Matt.23:38's DESOLATE HOUSE) These of Rev. 17:1-5 including the desolate house of old Israel are already void of Christ. (old Israel had never accepted Christ & the Rev. 17 ones had ALL [become] the Abomination of the EARTH! (and that IS CHRIST'S DOCUMENTATION!)
Yet, note that these are the 'the whole' of the fold's who stayed put that 'FELL AWAY'! The ones that left are again seen in Rev. 18:4's prophecy.

So NO, the FALLING AWAY is the last True Fold of Laodicea who [AGAIN] stay's put & the 'Remnant' (see Rev. 12:17) leave the Christless 1/2 professed LUKEWARM LOVE for Christ ones. (there is NO mention of false Doctrines there in Rev. 3:16-17, just a [SICK] love.

If one studies Rev. 3 7-17 they can find just two 'Virgin Candelsticks' in Doctrine in the last scene of earths history, verse 10 finds one kept (ibid 7) and the other Laodicea SPEWED OUT & becomes verse 9, the synagogue of satan. In other words, the sixth replaced the seventh as was the case of old Israel! see Matt. 10:5-6 on to verse 15's Lost Sheep of the 'HOUSE' of Israel.

And ALL that left & FOLLOWED Christ [OUT] (Matt. 25) made up the 'Remnant Church' of Acts [[THE REMNANT'S NEW START!]].

And has JUDGEMENT Begun for these past ones? Surely, Matt. 25:10's [SHUT DOOR OF PROBATION!] Heb. 6:6 finds this again a REPEATED DONE DEAL! Eccl. 1:9-10 + Eccl. 3:15 along with Peter in 1 Peter 4:17 that 'JUDGEMENT MUST BEGIN WITH THE 'HOUSE' OF GOD [FIRST]'.
