[_ Old Earth _] Have evolutionists figured out...

I think that perhaps you are looking at such an existence based upon earthly things. Earthly things DO tend to become boring after a while, because that's just the way our bodies work. They need new stimuli, probably associated with some sort of chemical production in the brain, but without that limitation, I think an everlasting existence can be quite fulfilling, actually. Just food for thought. :)
Yeah, I have thought about that. So I had to imagine a modification of myself in which I did not get bored like I do now. But that starts to beg the question of how modification would there be? Would I be modified to the point that the spirit appears to be something that is not me?

But those are some pretty tough philosophical questions. :)

Probably the toughest philosophical questions. I like to think that what makes us sentient is a product of our advancement and that of the spirit/soul. I think the spirit/soul retains a lot of what we are while here. Of the two, one can be tested, the other can't. I'm sure these things will be pondered long after we're dead in our physical bodies. Unfortunately, we seem to not be able to communicate adequately with THIS realm to tell the future ponderers anything about what lies ahead. But then, if we all knew what it would be like, perhaps it would detract from our goals and focuses here and now.

I'll keep pondering the possibilities. :)

So...have any evolutionists here figured out why monkeys can't breed human descendants yet? Or not? :o

The problem here is that again, you are saying evolution says that monkeys and humans can breed, and no matter how many times you are told that this isnt true, you continue to say this.

Its the same thing as this:

Me: Jesus died in the flood

Heidi: No, Jesus died on the cross

Me: No, the bible says everyone on earth except Noah and his family died in the flood.

Heidi: But Jesus wasnt born then, he died on the cross.

Me: No, the bible says everyone died in the flood.

Heidi: No, you arnt getting it pearlz, he was born after the flood.

Me: But the bible says everyone on earth but noah and his family died in the flood, so Jesus had to have died in the flood.

Heidi: pearlz...the bible never said Jesus died in the flood

Me: Yes is does, cause it says everyone on earth died except Noah and his family so that means Jesus died then to.

Heidi: Throws up her hands and walks away cause she realizes she cant argue with a person who has no idea what she is talking about.

pearlz declairs victory

This is what you do Heidi, you argue and argue a point that makes no sense at all because evolution has NEVER said humans and apes should be able to breed. And if they could, it would DISPROVE evolution, not prove it. So everytime you bring this up, you are actually proving a point for evolution, not the other way around.

But you would have to assume that if both chimpanzees and homosapiens came from the same common ancestry, there had to be a time when the two parting species line would still be able to interbreed. And really, there had to be some factor that caused two distinct species to even COME from a common line. What would have happened to create the oddity? Which one branched off the other? Chimps still have the basic primate physiology, whereas humans have the upright stance.

Many times I have a hard time buying the "common ancestry" argument. :-?

That's like saying; "If one assumes that kong Kong once ruled the world, then there had to be a time when gorillas were 200 feet tall.

So "Assume" is the key word. I don't make up reality, I observe it. And since humans have always bred only humans & chimpanzees have always only bred chimpanzees since man has been able to observe reality, then my conclusions are far more scientific than those who imagine that animals can breed humans, because scientific conclusions are based on observable phenomena. ;-)

then my conclusions are far more scientific than those who imagine that animals can breed humans,

You are right! You have way more scientific knowledge than those silly scientists with their college degrees. What on Earth are doing on this forum when you should be writing articles for scientific journals!?
