Hi Joe,

Unfortunately, we don't need to do anything to be a lost sinner--we're born that way.
A "good" man who neglects Salvation will end up in the lake of fire as surely as a Satan-worshipping, mass-murderering, child-molesting lawyer.
On the flip side, God will wash either one in the blood of the Lamb, and accept him as His child.

There are six ways/qualities that end in the lake of fire.

Rev 19:20
20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought the signs in his sight, wherewith he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast and them that worshipped his image: they two were cast alive into the lake of fire that burneth with brimstone: ASV

Rev 20:10
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where are also the beast and the false prophet; and they shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. ASV

Rev 20:14-15
14 And death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, (even) the lake of fire.
15 And if any was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire. ASV

This "lake of fire", where the beast and false prophet are alive when they are cast into it, is witnessed as a different form of fire than that fire that comes down from God out of heaven and devours the nations.

Those who take away from the words of prophecy are warned that their names will be taken out of the book of life. Those who add to the words of prophecy will suffer the plagues/loss, but they will be saved, yet as by fire. 1 Cor 3:15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as through fire. ASV

Rev 22:19
19 and if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the tree of life, and out of the holy city, which are written in this book. ASV

Rev 22:15
15 Without(the city) are the dogs, and the sorcerers, and the fornicators, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and every one that loveth and maketh a lie. ASV

Rev 21:8
8 But for the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part (shall be) in the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death. ASV

Those who "take away" must "live outside the city", "be cast into a lake of fire." They will be told that they must go and live with the devil and his angels in the outer darkness. This is depicted as being outside the city/a lake of fire. They do not serve with Jesus in his everlasting priesthood where there is no night. The glory of God and the Lamb are the Light of the city(Revelation 21:23). The nations who live on the outside will come on the new moon and sabbath to worship and they will look upon the bodies of the men who have transgressed against Jesus, our Lord and our God. Isaiah 66:23,24. Revelation 21:24.

Sounds like what ive been saying in another thread about how the day of the Lord comes upon some people as a thief in the night.I expect alot of people will fall into this situation.

If you read 1 Corinthians 1:22 in context you will see that the Jews and Greeks shared the same sin; disbelief in Christ. The difference is that the Jews could not believe in a Messiah who would allow Himself to be crucified, and the Greeks could not rationally believe that the Messiah conquered death.
