Better translation; he shall make a prevailing (enduring, everlasting) covt for one week, (in Jerusalem and among Daniels people,. Though made during one week from 27-33ad initially in Jerusalem and among Daniels people, it continued beyond both parameters and prevailed against attempted extinction and pressure of repatriation to Moses and the rabbis from the Jews. It endured through both the Roman and Jewish persecutions.
The indwelling and test of obedience to his instructions delivered by jesus in 27-30ad was completed in Jerusalem and among Daniels people in 30-33ad.
He who makes the prevailing covt is not prince of the people... It is messiah.
Context demands the antecedent of a pronoun, not proximity!!! Check out basic rules for Grammer!!!
If the pronoun He is associated with the nearest previous noun, it would have refer to the people and be translated they. The people are the proper subject of the phrase people of the prince........
Before responding, please provide a non religious, academic source which states that the antecedent of a pronoun must refer to the next previous noun.

No,the king of the north is not Charles.
The king of the north,(son of perdition) comes to power through intrigue.He is not in line of succession and is a vile despicable person.He is preceded by a raiser of taxes.
Daniel 11:21
The next to come to power will be a despicable man who is not in line for royal succession. He will slip in when least expected and take over the kingdom by flattery and intrigue.
The king of the north reminds me of Trump.An outsider who people found interesting .The king of the north has a very powerful military with a great fleet of ships and will station his armed forces in Israel during the tribulation.
I often wonder if Israel will end up in NATO because of these armed forces.Just a thought.
