My name is Lee.
I am male, 53 years old.
Married, but soon to be divorced.
I am a Christian. I am proud to be, and have no problems saying so.
Perhaps some here may differ on the definition.
That is ok, it keeps things interesting.
I will be mostly lurking for awhile as I get to know this site.
I have 1000's of questions, and maybe a few answers.
May God bless you all today with a little slice of Heaven.

PouringRain, that is an interesting name.

I do not define my Christianity, nor anybody elses.
I read somewhere recently that it is impossible to live without judging. Perhaps, but I feel that far too much time and energy is spent by people trying to judge whose Christianity is more correct or superior.

On a side note - I find it also interesting how few replies are given to new member posts in this section. I find it sad to see a new member say hello, see maybe 50 views, and only a very few replies. I fail to understand that?

Welcome to CFnet!

That's usually (but not always) the kind of thing we do in the New Member Forum. We welcome new members. You might not be getting more responses, because perhaps members aren't sure how to respond.
I'd encourage you to start a new thread in a different forum that formulates the question: "What defines a Christian?", or something like that. I suspect it would end up being a long thread. I have strong feelings about the matter.

So, for now... Hi!

Hello again,
You have misunderstood my comment on new members posts. I was not at all talking about myself concerning responses to a members first post. When I see post after post from new members saying "Hello", then I see that thier post has maybe 50 or more views, but only maybe a couple people even take the time to just say hello back. That is what seems odd to me.

Sorry, RW. I mistook your point. I don't know how to explain that. Up until about 2 weeks ago, I would always make it a point to welcome new members who introduced themselves, but I have some making up to do because I've been negligent. No one likes to say "Hi! I'm here!" only to be met with the sound of crickets. :sad The only thing I can suggest is that some are led to do certain things. And I'd rather a few people genuinely wanted to welcome me than many people feeling obligated. If you look over the past few pages of new threads in this forum, you'll mostly see the same members responding. It could be that there are many members who post an intro post, and then we never hear from them again. Maybe some people just tire of welcoming members who never truly join.

I guess what I'm saying is: I'm sorry that there aren't more members who welcome new ones, but I'm not going to shame them for it. I would never want to have someone feel like it doesn't matter that they joined. Truly... I'm happy you're here, and I look forward to engaging with you on the boards. :yes
