Hello All!
I come here in search of some insight, knowledge, recommendations on a subject.
My wife and I are currently Roman Catholics, making the full jump a few years ago (raised Catholic, but never got all the way with confirmation - in my wife's case, baptism and confirmation). After entering into the Catholic church I started to read more and more about what was going on with the church around the world, and I found some things (as you will with anything) that I didn't particularly like, mainly on the subject of politics and economics. Recent comments by Pope Francis have me thinking very hard about looking elsewhere for worship.
My wife and I are pretty conservative, maybe more Libertarian leaning, but I'm sure you get the drift. Though I strongly believe in helping others, and charity, I believe it is Jesus' teaching that we do this out of the kindness of our hearts, not by the coercive nature of Government - give what you can when you can, not force the neighbor to your right to give to your neighbor to your left via taxation/redistribution.
So the question: what Christian denomination would fall most in line with our beliefs (and if you happen to know of any churches in Pittsburgh, PA that would be great!)?
Thank You and Regards
