Hello!

Ah yes, the beauty that is Washington State! I've traveled by road back and forth across the country a number of times and, to be honest, never went through any place that I would rather live in more than right here in Washington!
Ah, a fellow Washingtonian! It's nice to meet you, Obadiah. I agree with your assessment, especially when the sun is visible.

What side of the mountains are you on? I am a little north of Seattle.

while I do miss Washington at times. I have learned often what we ignore and want to see/live in other states might be under our nose. of course much of the natural beauty of Florida's beach in my county is gone. :sad
That's too bad, Jason, about the beaches. I didn't realize you used to live here.

Hi Abigail. I'm on the west. I live on a sailboat in Blaine Harbor right on the border. And yes, up here we've had the best winter this year that I can remember!!!

You are so blessed to live on a boat there! I can only imagine how wonderful that must be for you! Many people are jealous - like me. LOL ;)
Does the wind blow frequently there?

Yes! The wind blows. Sadly almost always from the WRONG direction! :shame The lesson I've learned here is to not plan on where I want to go, but just go out and follow whatever the wind happens to be doing. Either that, or plan on burning a lot of fuel. :yes

You do like to sail, don't you! LOL

ok. I do suggest you at least pm some here, given that you have been through. not that I don't need to be told as I already know. still some may wonder.

Love it! Thanks for posting!
its not like that today. most beaches don't have trees that close to it in my county. some of the older pics will show a playground on the beach. humiston beach to the south of that beach is one of those. the other one called jaycee beach isn't as old(humiston and sexton) are older and are prior ww2. jaycee and conn beach are after ww2. jaycee beach was once owned by the coast guard.

Thank you, Jesse. UW is a great school, good for you, keep going, it will open many doors for you.
I like it here, the mods do seem to do a good job, too, I agree with you!

When I first moved to Washington, in '89, we always had wind storms, we lost power about once a month, this went on up until recently when I moved to a different area, not too far away but just enough where I am more protected from the and it doesn't seem to blow as much. I'm thankful for this as I have 2 trees growing in my deck, right near my bedroom window. Anyway, now if it starts snowing, this little cul-de-sac loses power - go figure.

You probably experience so much more being near the water. Does it freeze and/or snow more often?

Have a blessed day. :)

I should tell you, my oldest son attends the UW also. It's a difficult school to get into, as you know, you need a high gpa and lots of extra-curricular activities. As I tell both my sons, I am very proud of you for all your hardwork and dedication towards your life and goals! May God bless you richly young man, Jesse!

Hi everyone!

I'm so glad to be here among other believers and really looking forward to some great discussion about our Lord. I've been reading this forum for awhile and decided to take the plunge and register.

A little bit about myself, it's not too exciting, but will share. I have 2 children, both are in college, not married (long story), but life is good and I so enjoy the journey God has placed before me and excited to see what he has around all the corners! Throw me on a beach, in a boat, near water (preferably the ocean or Sound) and it is heaven on earth! I enjoy gardening, reading the Bible and hanging out with my kids - they make me laugh and it's so true, kids are a precious gift from the Lord - no matter how old they are!

Thanks for letting me join your "home" here, anxious to meet everyone!
