Hi. My name is Christin. I'm 20 years old and I live in New Hampshire in the U.S. I was baptised a Christian and my family is sort of religious. We used to go to church every sunday, but we haven't done that in years. I've always tried to be true to my faith and try to lead a life as a good person. I don't have any friends who follow any religion so I don't have anyone I can talk to about these things.

See, sometimes I question my religion because of all the scientific stuff that is out there. In a certain way I think evolution kind of makes sense. I also fear for my soul. (As corny as that may sound) I have given into temptations in my life. I have stolen, taken God's name in vain, premarital sex and such. I believe I am a good person, but I don't know if that is enough. So I decided to join a forum and see if there is anyone else out there like me or anyone who can talk to me about these issues.
 
Hello Cristin, my name is JJ, I just joined myself. Got Bad news for you and Good news. First the Bad news you/we as humans aren't good enough to get to heaven. The Bible tells us, we all have sinned (Romans 3:23) and all our righteousness is as filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6). But the Good News is that God sent His only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ to died for our sins.

John 3:16-17
16) For God so loved the world, that He gave HIs only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17) For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world throught Him might be saved.
God gave us His Son to die for us, so we might live in Him.
For not only did Jesus died but He rose again (I Corinthians 15:3-4).

So all one has to do to be saved is, pray to God the Father something like this. Dear God I know I'm a sinner and I repent of my sins and accept what your Son, Jesus Christ did for me, by taking my sins on Himself, I can take His righteousness on myself.
II Corinthians 5:21
For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sins; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
If you say this with your mouth and believe it in your heart, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9-10)
