Hey, Mike!

You know how you're always saying that cats won't come when they're called by name.

Tonight, my daughter's cat was walking across the living room just as my daughter was getting ready for bed. She snapped her fingers and said, "Salem, go to bed!"

The cat looked at her, then headed down to her room and jumped right onto an old doll bed that he claims as his own.

So there!:p

Cat's rule!

my wife had a cat called tiger that would do that for her.

No, he didn't, Handy. No, he didn't.

Okay, I'll allow for the off chance that he had plans to do that at that very moment anyway. You know, they have dog training classes everywhere. Have you ever seen a cat training class? No, because it would be a complete waste of money. Though, I'm surprised more people haven't bilked cat lovers out of their hard-earned money anyway.

Nice try, though. ;)

I know, I know! Unless I get all teched out with a web-cam and provide video proof of it, you'll remain a scoffer. And we all know what Proverbs says about scoffers! :yes

'Nuther incident...we have like 50 cats...no, not really. We only have 5.

But, not long ago all five were sitting on the porch or dinking around out on the lawn. My daughter walked from the house onto the porch and saw her other cat, Mr. Mittens laying by the flowerbed. She said, "Mittens, baby, come to Mommy!"

Out of all five cats doing their various kitty things, only one got up and walked over to her...yep, Mr. Mittens it was.

Handy, if I didn't have such mad love for you, your fraudulent claims would really present a problem for me. :shame

I'll bet these cats were trained to follow their parts to a tee! I have to admit, they listened very well here.
;) ;)

Last week in church we had the concept of Grace and the idea that we are saved for works, not by works explained to us in terms of cats and dogs:

As Christians, we are supposed to be dogs, not cats. Dogs are loyal and loving towards their owners, no matter what. Cats, however, only love you if you give them food, basically what you can do for them.

Sorry, Dora. Couldn't resist. :lol

Oh really? Sounds like your pastor needs to apologise to the congregation for flagrant story telling. :fencing

Bad pastor.

I had a kitten once (true story) who was a rescue waiting for a home. I had him from 3-4 weeks old and at this stage he was about 8-10 weeks. Anyway one day my mother and I had a heated disagreement and afterwards she was sitting on the floor in her room when my kitten dashed in, reared on his hind legs and pawed the air at her with his little claws out - then fled back to me.

I heard a burst of incredulous laughter and she came out and told me what he'd done.

He was always a brave kitty though. He actually came with his brother originally (who I found a home for early on) and on their first night when they still thought I was going to eat them (they were strays) he'd always get between me and his brother when they were cornered even though he knew his hisses didn't scare me.

I'll never forget that cat. (I found him a home with a nice couple too eventually.) Would have kept him but I live in a unit.

Awww, poor kitties! But, I've seen dogs who've suffered from neglect as well.:shame

i ran over a stray a while back, he lived(animal control took him) and if they didnt euthanise him, i darn sure took one of his lives.

no bones were broken but his right eye was non-responsive to light. i though he was dead when i went to see what i hit and wanted to tell the owner. alas he was alive!

so i called 9-1-1. and animal control came and got him.

That's because dogs aren't as smart as cats. :p

I never said anything about their intelligence; just their attitude. Sure they're aware that you're calling them, but they couldn't care less. They choose the time and place they will come to you, whether you want them to or not.

Cats don't come when you call them.
Cats don't come when you call them.
Cats don't come when you call them.

To be honest, neither does my dog most of the time, but his breed is known for their defiance (bichon frise), and this one in particular is a bad seed. :bigfrown
