Hello, I've been looking for a place for uplifting, Christian discussions, and I hope I'll fit in here. :pray If anyone is familiar with the Myers Briggs personality types, I'm an INTJ, and I often feel quite "weird" when voicing my opinion; I tend to "overthink" things according to the majority view. I don't like controversy, but my plain vanilla opinions sometimes stir it when I don't mean for them to! :shame I will try to keep my opinions short and concisely expressed, and maybe this can just be fun and helpful from a fellowship standpoint. :D

I'm sorry, Josh, I will enable them! :yes And thank you for the welcome!

Hi, Vic, thank you so much for the welcome!

Yes, I am NOT short on thoughts to share, which is why I thought I should try this forum; to vent. :lol

And seriously, I like the Christian balance I've found here. Kudos to you all!

venting is good!

:lol I agree, vic!

StoveBolts - you're kidding! I love Lexington! It's about 20 miles north of where we are. Well, I love Lexington in the summer, just not now!

What? You don't like Ice fishing :lol

Well, the boat motor died... :mad The first time we took the boat to Lexington, we got stuck in the sand bar, then my new engine decided it wanted to loose the seat between the water neck and the head (long story), so we just pulled it out of the sandbar, and pushed it into another sandbar and had a pic nik :yes

The second time to Lexington, we launched the boat (Second time out) and as I'm walking back to the boat, I suddenly remembered that I didn't put the plug in :oops . I couldn't find the plug cause it was floating in the water inside the bilge, so a nice person next to me gave me their plug :approve

So, I get the bilge all pumped out (and found my plug), and it starts to rain.... as I'm backing out of the dock, it really starts to rain. As we're pulling out of the bay area, it's pouring so hard you can't see except the three foot waves banging against the boat, so we turn around in the rain, load the boat back on the trailer in the rain, and as were driving out of Lexington, out comes the sun :gah I just looked over at my wife, and before I could say anything she said, "don't even think about it Jeffery!" :nono

Yup, love Lexington :D

Yup, love Lexington

I truly love well-applied sarcasm! :lol

Wow, what an experience! It's funny to read about anyway!

Lexington has that nice walkway around the docks - except every time we've gone there with a walk in mind, it's been windy and chilly; not pleasant conditions for walking. Ever been to Adam's coffee shop in the really nice courtyard near the docks?

:lol

Nope, I've only been to Lexington boating twice, but it sound really nice. After our two attempts at boating, we decided to try and find a smaller lake closer to us. Lakeville is only about 20 or so minutes away, and although they have stumps, it's not a bad lake.

The last lake we took it out was on a little lake at the Michigan Christian Youth Camp. (http://mcyc.org/). We (my wife mainly) does a lot of volunteer work there, so we had them launch the boat w/ their tractor. It works out really nice, but when I get the boat running, and I'm confident that it's not going to break down, I want to launch in Port Huron and take a weekend lake trip :)

A couple years ago my wife and I went to a really cozy bed and breakfast I think just north of Lexington. It was a two story colonial that sat on the west side of the road. Really nice place. Sounds like Adam's place would have been a nice stop on the way home. :)

Sounds like Port Sanilac. I just love the lake drive up the M25, I think it's called. I used to try to take that drive once a month or so, just to take in the beauty, but when gas prices soared, well, I didn't take that drive for about two years. I finally broke down and took it a couple of months ago, and I drove all the way to Port Hope, I think. Just beautiful. I love the Great Lakes. We've only lived here 11 years, we were west coasters before. But even with the frigid winter this year, I wouldn't want to go back.

I've never taken the drive all the way up, but your right, it's a beautiful view!

My wife and I just came back from a weekend at Caseville. What a pretty area.
