I'm new to this forum and I have search some sites that can help or clarify my questions.My question would seem to be material,but it is still connected to finding righteousness.


I have indulge myself on downloading, and buying pirated files long ago. Now, I have set myself not to buy or download any kind of file anymore because I feel bad about it,taking advantage to the authentic ones.And I admit it's a bad thing.But,now,at present time and condition,could I still use those files/things which is pirated?

I still have those files,but for now,I am not using it until I haven't found an answer for this.

I feel guilty about this as I have got a few gigs of music from my friends that have illegaly obainted them. It is very easy to step into this area, and hard to get out as we don't want to delete music that we already have, but that I guess is my challenge. I knew this one guy who had about 20 gigs of illegally downloaded music, and he felt so guilty about it before God that he deleted all of it! Pretty big challenge to set for the rest of us.

The flip side is that many of the illegal music that my friends have given me I wouldn't have heard of that band if they haden't, and if I really like it, I'll go out and buy the CD or purchase the album on iTunes. That makes this even more complicated. But if you feel guilty about it, I'd say delete it - they are illegal copies after all.

Sure, I don't like these particular laws and I think they are behind the times, but we just have to deal with it and obey the government as we are commanded by Jesus.
