It's no secret that the state of Victoria in Australia has had the longest and strictest lockdowns on earth and their not set to lift any time soon... My industry has been closed for 7 months. It had already been hurt before covid but now i don't think its coming back...
Meanwhile i moved back in with my parents so i can get by...

Now, im seriously considering moving state to NSW, where ever there is work, preferably away from the big city...
But i can't afford to be staying in hotels so ive decided to live out of a car to get started...
I'll sell my sedan and get something like an SUV, van or commercial vehicle with some space in the back to sleep...

U could say that i will be homeless but im not looking at it that way... For me it will be like a road trip... Camping
All i need is a mattress, a 12v fridge/freezer, water storage plumbed up to a camping sink, lil food prep bench, a portable gas stove, portable gas hot water system, dual batteries with solar panels, 240v inverter, portable dunny and some other bits and pieces

The more i think about it the more i think im gonna do it... Im gonna stop worrying about the future so much and just live for today...
Im gonna cut all my dependencies from the government, as many as possible anyway... And what better way to pray, study the bible and be closer to God than to be surrounded by nature

You might be able to find a camping ground to park up of your going more city style, Or if you go inland more could find a orchard or farm and work on there, some let you park up on site. Try organise a job to go to first. I used to do that in Aussie.

I really like your idea and God's blessing be upon you in this new chapter in your life. Praying and knowing God will open that door of opportunity for you no matter where you go.

My husband just got laid off and not many jobs around our area that pay what he was making. Not sure where our new chapter in life will lead us as we write a new story. We are thinking about leaving Pennsylvania and moving to South Carolina if he can first find a job there that pays enough to make our three major payments we have. Thinking about parking our camper in a camp ground down there and saving on utility bills that would help us meet our payments if he has to take a lesser paying job. We are seeking God's guidance for this and we know He will open that right door for us.

Lots of people do the harvest trail. They just travel in there vans and work on orchards harvesting crops around the place. Inland work miles away from the cities. I done it. I met some really good people as well. Good experience. Some palces I had months of work and could even have gone fulltime. I always tried go directly through the farmer/grower.

You are tougher than me. I'm too connected to creature comforts. Like my bed. My kitchen. My local library and local coffee shops. Plus I would run out of money too quickly if on the road.
Good luck with that. I'm in WA so missed the pain suffered by Vic's.

Have you prayed about it?

Oh ye... Even before covid i wanted to get out of this city, out of this state.
There are several circumstances here that make things complicated for me.

We're raised to work 5 days a week for over 40 years only to enjoy the last 10 or 20 years of our lives...
What a crap deal... When you think about it that could be classed as sinful...
Working to accumulate wealth is a selfish ambition... Can a wealthy person even be permitted in Gods kingdom?
Jesus said that it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle...
And what does Christ tell his apostles to take on their journeys? Just the bare essentials...

Are you going to be safe?

Safe from what exactly??? In the bush its snakes and spiders... Venomous ones that can kill if not treated
Being alert of your your surroundings is key... Good leather boots are a must...
Its a good idea no to go too deep into the bush on your own in case you get bitten and have to get treated.

As for the urban areas its not the USA here. People don't go around with guns shooting others...
Im from the hood, im street smart but i only ever meet genuine people that have good intentions and good hearts

Where do i sign up... I heard that the farmers are understaffed now as well cos there are fewer backpackers here...
I figure that i only need to work for 6 months in a year and live the other 6 months...
Should we live to work or work to live...

Ye it all depends what happens with Melbournes version of the Iron Curtain... The Ring of Steel...
Currently they are handing out $5,000 fines to people trying to leave Melbourne...
This ring of steel can only be lifted in 4 weeks time if we average less than 5 daily cases... Unlikely...

So i might have to sneak through this ring of steel using my back roads...
Once im in rural Victoria im free to move about so there should be no issue if cops pull me up...

Getting into NSW might be an issue but as they are treating us all like lepers ATM and not letting any of us in...
I would have to try sneak over the border to the east, beyond the Murray...
Its insane what i might have to do just to go to the next state so because of that i can't organise work before i get there

You are tougher than me. I'm too connected to creature comforts. Like my bed. My kitchen. My local library and local coffee shops.

Not tougher, its just the situation i find myself in... If i was financially stable with a house then it would be much harder to just drop everything and go with the wind... As for creature comforts... What do we need...

A bed... Check
A kitchen... Check (well a stove, sink and benchtop at least)...
Coffee shops... Melbourne was the best, known for its hospitality industry, night life, funky little designer shops and cafes... Man... It brings a tear to my eye seeing what it is now... I never actually knew it but i loved that city

But, good coffee... Check. Ground, roasted, Arabica beans with the Italian style percolator

What else...

Clean, running water... Check
Shower...Check
Hot water... Check
Toilet... Check
Fridge/freezer... Check
Power to recharge things like a laptop, shaving gear, etc... Check

All we need is food... Nothing more... The rest is all material. Ok i guess shelter is a necessity too
I could gather enough protein in the Aussie bush. Its full of protein
Fishing, searching the rocks on low tide, setting up traps and snares to catch fish, rabbits, birds, roos, and other animals
However the Aussie bush does not have an abundance of carbohydrates

I'm in WA

I'll eventually do a slow lap of Oz... Up Cape York... Across the top end... Down the west coast to Perth...
Then cross the Nullabour towards Vic...

ATM the WA premier is treating the rest of us Aussies like a biohazard with the borders closed to the rest of us... LoL... And i recently read that they passed a bill for forced covid vaccinations, allowing officers to pull down peoples underwear in order to vax then in the butt cheek... Did u hear about that one?

Didn't hear that one.
I held McGowan in high esteem but he is gradually wearing thin. He has a big ego and tends towards grandstanding. We were partly lucky because of our small population re covid.
I'm sick of watching Andrews do his daily talk. I think Victorians deserve total transparency. Have a feeling Andrews is hiding something.

small country area where I'm staying

Some places I worked were so off the grid there was just nothing to do and nothing around for miles. Some places I only worked like a few weeks and moved on. One place I worked 3 months, I mean that had 2 pubs, a shop, a gas station, and , well that was the entire town.

the house I,posted wasn't built with power nor plumbing ,the kitchen was likely near where the current fire place is and it doubled as a fire place ,a stove .sealed off now ,one of many here .
