"Hooked" On Political Hate, Part 2

LoL. Back when I was going through what I described in the OP, I thought to myself, "How would I respond right now if someone posted a thread asking what it was like being a Christian?" I kept imagining using words like "butcherous" (might even be a word) and torturous, and others I won't mention. Granted, I was going through the throes, but how many people are still at a level where everything is still coming up roses, and they are just "Blessed, blessed, blessed."

I kept being reminded of the verse where Paul said, "If the gospel is not true then we are the most foolish of men." Why? Because the deeper you get into serving the Lord Jesus Christ, the more He may call you to endure. You mentioned spiritual war, and in war there is pain, you witness casualties being taken out, you endure tremendous sufferings.

It may not be that way all the time, and joy comes in the morning, but man is not all cookies and ice cream. ( I like ice cream btw, so it's a shame it's not. I'd be ok with it if it was, Lol).
Well, my wife and I stopped in for ice cream today. It was an indulgence, but we were quite thankful to God for it! ;)

You're right. At the start of my true Christian walk I can't tell you how high I got on Jesus. I had the answer to the universe! I had the means of peace on earth.

But love is adventurous and may take us down some twisted, winding paths, even into caves. It may seem there's no way out.

But that's love. God's love tests us to see if our love is real. It's not an attempt to get us to fall. It is trust that someone out there truly does love God, and He grants us the opportunity to serve Him, our Creator and friend.

There is a purpose for our suffering--a good purpose. We'll just have to find out....

You have some really good theology, LoL. :thumbsup
