Might have been. It went through a rough time between the failure of passenger rail, and the time the hotel picked it up.

There's a really good restaurant in back. Very professional wait staff, excellent food, but without any pretension. It's a little pricey, but the food and service are well worth it. And much of the restaurant and bar dates from the 1930s. I'll post some pictures.

a fish eye lens an this will make one interesting photo

Mrs. B had a fisheye with her, but I don't know if she used it or not. I don't pay much attention to what she does when we're on a shoot. If I dare to offer any suggestions, I'm asked "Who's taking this picture?"

My wife uses a mirrorless Olympus. The four-thirds lenses are a little less expensive, but yes, fisheye lenses that are good, are not cheap. You can get the same effect by carefully making several exposures and stitching them together. But it still works better with a fish-eye.

I have a place I need to use a fish eye.

You might be able to get away with using a regular camera, taking maybe 9 shots by swiveling the camera, while keeping it centered at the same point. Then load up Microsoft ICE (freeware) and stitching the shots together. Works for me, most of the time.

Or buy a cheap fish-eye lens for your phone and do it that way. A good one would cost maybe $15.00. Either would give an acceptable result, if not perfect.

Not for my dlsr.I have already posted pics with that.my avatar is what I plan to use and the lagoon.but I don't think big blue will be around when I get one

My plan is to get as close as I can with a fish eye and aim skyward getting those stacks and clouds.both this and the diesel plant will often look like a painting if I can get you to see it.

Stand close to the building so that your camera can't get but about 1/3 of it. Then, holding the camera in roughly the same spot, swivel it to take pictures of the entire plant. Then, using Microsoft ICE, stitch together. You'll even get a fisheye effect with distortion.

Here's one I did recently, and didn't bother to straighten the lines. Notice it looks like a fisheye shot.

If you'd like a painterly effect, download this:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Graphic/Digital-Photo-Tools/AutoHDR.shtml

Very easy to use. You want to go to "Options" and shut off the watermark.

It's no longer on a website by itself, it's on one of those clickbait sites that try to get you do download stuff you don't need.
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Graphic/Digital-Photo-Tools/AutoHDR.shtml

Click the download button between "editor's review" and "specifications" and you're in. Won't work without windows.
